They aren't. The character listed is a 1st level vampire. You can't become a vampire with less than 5 HD or levels; creatures with 4 or less HD that get bit & drained unto death rise as vampire spawn, not vampires.

And I doubt you would want to play a vampire spawn; besides the whole lack-of-free-will thing, you can apparently never advance -- no extra HD, no character class levels, nothing.

your existence is futile. (chuckles)

With the templates, you would have to be ecl 3. Drow is 1, vampire is level +2. That makes drow vampire to be ecl 3.

Also the vampire template states it clearly that a hd5 or higher would be a vampire.

make a new character and say that your new character found this vampire husk out in broad day light, it looked to be a suicide but your suspicions hold that it might have been a murder. (murderer being the vampire that formerly controlled the vampire spawn) hehehehe.

You can't do it.

1) That's a lot of gold.
2) Did you roll your stats in front of the DM? You should always roll stats in front of the DM... no exceptions.
3) Drow ECL is +2, but yes a lot of people play it as +1.
4) Undead PCs... what happens if you need a Cure Critical in the middle of combat.
5) Fast Healing... for free?
6) Can't go out in the day?
7) Did you ask your DM if you could be a vampire? ECL-races can always be veto'd by a DM.
8) What class? Don't say sorcerer. Don't say sorcerer. Don't say sorcerer...

Note that many vampire abilities are broken at 1st-level (eg control all those wolves), and some abilities (eg energy drain gives you 5 temp hp that never go away if you don't take damage) are just broken in the hands of a PC.

I don't think an ECL for a vampire should have been provided, since it gives PCs bad ideas.

I'm confused as to the level of the character... the hit points and saves say 1st level, the skills - apparently Maxed at 8 ranks each - say 5th level...?

You are concerned about your existance?
Then, could it not be said that you are thinking about whether or not you exist?
If so, does that not mean that something is performing the act of thinking?
Can you not define that something as yourself?

Unless you have problems with any of those, feel confident that you exist.....

Seriously though, your character is totally illegal for a whole host of reasons and very munchkinized. Howsabout a new concept?

Oh yeah, what is the ECL of the vampire? It isn't +2... that's CR, a very different concept.

I think I read somewhere that it was +5 or something like that.
It has to be high, since you have Fast Healing and Dominate at will!. And even though the temp hp disappear, you are effectively getting faster Fast Healing if you close to combat.

With those hit points, your character won't survive an 8th-level encounter.

Do yourself a favor. Either make a new character or wait until 15th-level or so (and play an 8th-level character).

With your incredible overpowered strengths and painful weaknesses, your character will totally dominate the first encounter and die in the second one.
