Need input on feat selection

Hey guys, I was looking for some input on my feat selection. I won't go into my full build unless you guys want. He's basically a battlefield commander... a mounted knight (with the war and strength domains) self/party buffer. By the end of the build he'll have CL 17 and BAB 18. We're starting at level 4. Anyway, feats:

Human: Honor-bound (need to have this by level 5)
1: Endurance (need to have this by level 8)
Fighter: Mounted Combat (need to have this by level 11
3: Diehard (need to have this by level 8)
6: Craft Magical Arms & Armor
Fighter: Power Attack
9: Leadership (Need to have this by level 11)
12: Divine Vigor
15: Divine Might
18: Extend Spell

Any that don't say "Need to have this by level xx" are open to suggestion.

Thoughts?

No-one's likely to have any thoughts based on that info. Without knowing what classes you have or want, we have no way of knowing why you are selecting all these feats, what your intended role in the party is, or even how many other feats you might have.

From what I can see now, it looks like a fighter/cleric but it also looks like you're aiming for a number of prestige classes so it's hard to make recommendations and impossible to make informed ones.
 

The build will be 4 Cleric/2 Fighter/1 Knight of the Crown/3 Knight of the Sword/10 Knight of the Rose

We're starting at level 4, so I'm starting at 3 Cleric/1 Fighter.

I didn't really mention the build because I don't know how familiar most of you guys are with Dragonlance PrC.

What books are you using? And, not sure which feats are pre-req's and which are honest choices. MC is fine by itself, but how can you resist building on it?

We can use the Core Books, DRCS, and select feats from the Complete Books. I also like the idea of taking Ride-by Attack and Spirited Charge... I'm just having a lot of trouble deciding.

Hmm... For one, I'd not pick up both, Divine Vigor *and* Divine Might. Sure, both are great feats, but you only have that many Turn Attempts and your feat selection is tight already, due to all the prerequisites.

Extend Spell, I'd probably ditch as well, by that level it's hardly needed anymore (and you can always get rods).

Do you really want/need Craft Magic Arms & Armor?

Power Attack is pretty much a must-have.

With the Mounted Combat feat already, and your idea of a mounted knight, I think the Spirited Charge chain doesn't look all too bad. If you fight in the open often enough, that's also a rather good feat for sure.

Of course, Ride-By-Attack is a pre-req for Spirited Charge. RBA is darned useful from a tactical sense. Char I'm currently playing has Dodge, Mobility, Imp Init, Mounted Combat, RBA and two weapons feats. The two combat feats that get used more than any other are Mobility and RBA. Both cannot be underestimated in terms of battlefield movement and tactical positioning.
 

Remember that you have to have your hands free for casting. So quickdraw or still spell may be good choices. I'm playing a paladin/cleric with the mounted combat chain and I miss Quick Draw a lot of times. Shield and Longsword are really a pain in respect to casting.

Hmm, that is a good point. I had planned to use a longsword and tower shield. Maybe I should also have a buckler, just in case.

And... I dunno. Why is Craft Magic Arms & Armor not worth taking?

So, what if I drop Power Attack (I don't think it's useful with a longsword) and Divine Might, and instead did:

Fighter: Mounted Combat (need to have this by level 11)
3: Divine Vigor
6: Diehard (need to have this by level 8)
Fighter: Ride-by-Attack
9: Leadership (Need to have this by level 11)

18: ???
