Okay, I've just recently switched to a new computer that's 10 bazillion times better than my old one. In the process, I upgraded to Windows XP from Windows ME. And overall, it's good. But...
I want to find the people who did the coding for the latest version of Outlook Express and rip their lungs out. I'm hoping one of you kind folk can help me out (by fixing my problem, not by holding the guys down or anything). Here's the problem.
On my old system, when I would try to attach a file to an e-mail, it would give me the window to select the file, as is normal. If I clicked on a shortcut, it opened the folder to which the shortcut was attached--you know, like it's supposed to. But on this new machine (with Windows XP), OExpress is treating shortcuts like they were files unto themselves. It's attaching the shortcut to the e-mail, rather than opening it. I attach way too many files, in way too many different folders, for me to use a mailer where I have to track them all down step by step each time I send one.
Now, I can use the full version of Outlook if I have to, but honestly, I prefer Express. If any of you have any suggestions as to how I might fix this, I'd be eternally grateful. Or at least appreciative.
