NeMoren's Vault

"Walking dead! You don't think..." the mayor stammers, "As a matter of fact, I think I will gather my things and stay at the inn. Why don't you come visit me tomorrow and let me know what you find. Um Yep, Aniel should be here with a few more hammers in just a minute. Good bye everybody, see you tomorrow." THe mayor turns to leave.

As he hurries through the door, the mayor nearly knocks Aniel over. She turns to watch the mayor leave. "What's his problem?" Aniel is carrying a large hammer and a pick.

Persephone

"Ah, well, actually I have no money to purchase a crossbow..." Persephone raises her finger at the departing mayor, "maybe you could....oh well."

Persephone smiles, & steps a little behind Gurter as the hammers smash into the wall.

Gurter tries to look as heroic as possible, while trying his new 'I'm ready for anything' face. His eyes glitter with excitement. "Aaah what great stories this will make. This will put me right up with all the big ones. Surely this man was loaded. My working days are almost over..." he thinks while stretching his shoulders to make a more protective wall of himself. "Have no fear dear princess. I have encountered many strange and dangerous things on my many travels. Death did not catch me then, and will not for some time if it is up to me. You will be safe in my presence!"

OOC: Thanks Manzanita, I did thought it sounded kind of odd...

Enoch's cough worsens as he follows the group into the dusty wine cellar, and listening the conversation going on around him is the best he can do for the time being.

When Anna mentions walking corpses, Enoch's eyes widen and he unconsciously grasps the wooden holy symbol around his neck, thinking ~Joab told me I had a gift for channeling energy, but I've never found it practical for anything - it only creates a bit of golden light. He said it would drive away the undead, and that I should hold forth my holy symbol and envoke Fharlanghn's power if I was ever unlucky enough to encounter such creatures. But I don't know... Would it work? I have my doubts.~

"Booby traps," Ton chuckles. "What a silly name for devices that threaten life and limb. Still, it looks like I'll get a chance to polish my skills. I'd be happy to take the lead once we get through the wall." Ton swings his hammer like the rest, using his stonecrafta to pick out the weakest points.

"The mayor seemed a little squeamish at the idea that we might run into trouble on the other side of this wall." Anna replies to Aniel's question with a grin. "I guess he's not come across undead before."

Not that you have either, but let's not dwell on that, eh? Anna frowns at this thought, swinging again at the wall.

After about 15 minutes of pounding against the wall, you really begin to make progress. You can see there is an iron door behind the rock wall and have noticed three keyholes located within the door. Another ten minutes of hard work and you successfully clutter the cellar floor with debris and entirely exposed the previously hidden door with 7 keyholes.

Aniel steps forward to address the group, “ I know several of you must be concerned about the terms of my payment, but all I am concerned about is a book that was my grandmothers; the book is called the 'Spells of Gadrwyn Waeth'. If I could have just this, I would feel amply compensated for my troubles. Now, I have need of my own to attend to, I will check on you later tonight”, she is looking directly at Gurter as she completes her last statement.

"Aye, I bet you will." Anna grins as Aniel glances at Gurter.

"Right, let's get moving then." Anna pulls her key out from under her shirt and places it in one of the keyholes. "Come on, this door isn't going to unlock itself!"

Anna finds her key only opens one of the seven keyholes. As she turns the key she can feel a metal bar sliding within the housing of the door.

Persephone

Persephone will insert & turn her key as well.

"Aniel, I suspect you can have the book, though I don't want to commit to it until we see what else is in there, & the true significance of that book. You have worked hard to find us, true, but we do not yet know how hard we will have to work to find the vault. If there are, like, some of those icky orcy things, or yucky zombies & such, then we will probably end up working harder. Good thing we've got some good strong men in our group."

Persephone steps back & pats Hawk on the arm for this last statement.

OOC: What does Aniel look like? Is she young & pretty?
