NeMoren's Vault

"How cheery. Reminds me of home - the atmosphere, not the appearance."

Eseteru eyes the passage. Too narrow for archery, he thinks, I might hit my... companions. He takes out his heavy pick and hefts it easily.

"So who wants to lead the way into this warren of deathtraps?"

I can lead, if need be. Before going into this unknown place, I wish to wear my armor.

Why don't we take a few minutes to gather our equipment, and then come back.

Hawk goes to his room and dons his chain shirt, javelins, and other gear. He then goes back into the main room and, if everyone else is ready, proceeds down the passage to the main intersection.

Persephone

"Sounds good, Hawk. I do better near the rear." says Persephone. She hefts her short spear & makes sure her sling is in easy reach.

"Dweller on the Horizon, eh?" Ton asks Enoch. "This Flargnagan sounds like an interesting sort of deity. Can't say he'd hold appeal for most dwarves, but I'd like to hear more about him when you've got the time."

Sighting the dwarven stonework, Ton whistles a sigh while flexing his fingers. "Ach. My respect for the NeMorens is going up by leaps and bounds. They certainly paid for the best when they crafted this place. Best be on our guard though. I've no desire to be on the receiving end of a dwarven trap."

"It will be my pleasure to share the front with you," Ton responds to Hawk. "Just be sure to get my attention before pulling any unusual knobs, stepping on discolored bricks, or that sort of thing."

"I'll watch the gate while the rest of you gather your gear," he concludes, pulling out his shortbow.

Enoch grins at Gurter's trick, but then watches Gurter warily for a minute afterwards, trying to figure out if he is the brunt of a joke of some sort.

Already having gathered his equipment, Enoch remains in the basement as Hawk and any others go upstairs but dons a helmet that he removes from his backpack (OOC: Part of the chain shirt set) and tightens the straps of his buckler.

Enoch smiles at Ton's inquiry. Gently correcting Ton's pronunciation, he answers "I would welcome the opportunity to tell you about Fharlanghn. Perhaps..." Cough! Hack! Cough! "Excuse me, perhaps this evening."

As the group enters the tunnel, Enoch positions himself in the middle.

Gurter looks at his rather expensive clothes, and then towards the dusty tunnel ahead and an annoyed expression starts to form on his face. When the subject 'equipment' comes up Gurter mentions "I want to change as well. I'll be right back."

He returns in his adventuring outfit and once down, tries some swings with his rapier. "Just keeping the muscles in shape" he confides the rest. He will wait for the rest to enter the tunnel, taking a place at the back, staying near Persephone 'to protect her with his life if the occasion should arise'.

Everyone meets back in the cellar, armed and armored. Looking at the door and down the 10' wide passage leading into the NeMoren family vault.

OOC: marching order I am assuming In front walking side by side Ton & Hawk, then Eseteru, Enoch, Gurter, Anna and Persephone. I am assuming Ton is setting the pace and looking for traps while walking. If you would like to discuss the marching order, assumed actions etc, post on the OOC thread or I will assume the above. If everyone could check in on the OOC thread saying Yea or Nea on the marching order.

Persephone

Persephone gives Gurter the cold shoulder, instead sticking close to Anna or Enoch. She says to them, "if it comes to combat, allow me to enchant your weapon before you engage the enemy."

"Aye, I'll just grab my own gear." Anna dashes back to her room, returning a minute later, still pulling her armour over her head. Once her gear is secure, she take a place towards the rear of the group.

"Best to let the men take the lead. They get all grumpy if you don't let them act bold and adventurous." She says quietly to Persephone, a slight smile on her lips. "And thanks for the offer of magic. I'm not one to turn down help like that." She checks the straps on her shield are tightly buckled and draws her sword, taking a couple of deep breaths to calm herself.

OOC: - I will post tonight, I had a late night in the emergency room last night, my pinky finger was caught by the edge of a handheld orbital sander and needless to say, I was in need of several stiches.
