I also approve. Heaven forbid you actually have to think about when you're going to use it. Or use skills like Insight to see something is suspicious before popping it out.

On a tangential note there, I love how the Devotion Oath tenets (specifically for courage and compassion) pretty much nip the "Lawful Stupid" trope right in the bud.

The older version could see through anything, and its range was 60 feet.

That means (in a classic dungeon) the DM not only has to check the descriptions of all the nearby rooms of this level, but also the two levels above and the two levels below.

And since it was at-will, the paladin could do this constantly.

Yeah, I'm not complaining about this change.
