Hate to break it to you, but this isn't new. I'm pretty sure this is the first sample. I remember reading it at the end of a copy of A Feast for Crows.

But it is new to many people who have not read it - and is advertised as "new" on GRRM's site - so give the poster a break!

Yeah, I posted the link before reading it, as I saw that a "new" sample was up on Martin's main page. As soon as I got a couple paragraphs in, I realized I'd seen it before--I guess he decided to switch his samples out again. Oh well.

I think I prefer the Tyrion sample, but then I much prefer Tyrion as a character.

Tyrion is by far my favorite character and always has been. I really enjoyed AFFC but missing Tyrion Halfman Lannister is a loss from any seven kingdoms novel imho )
