New Campaign in Kinrisar

DMEntropy

First Post
I am beginning to organize a new campaign in Kinrisar. I would like to find 5 or 6 people interested in participating in this campaign.

The organization of this will be a rotating DM's chair. Each participant will be a player and the DM at different times. What I am thinking of is having each player organize a one or two session adventure at a time. That way each player will have plenty of time to set up "their" adventure without being crunched for time from a creativity/work standpoint.

This will be a great opportunity for novice DM's to "give it a try" with low pressure for work output and volume and the opportunity for rapid feedback and exposure to many different DM styles.

Please post here if you are interested with your email address in the following format:

Depending on times and such I would be interested :-).

A little scarred of the DM chair because I'm still a little mixed up on the odd rule and such - but hopefully a few good players will help out in that department if I make mistakes. But creatively I would enjoy putting something interesting together (well hopefully).

I don't think that you should worry too much about the DM side. I don't have the rules MEMORIZED myself. When I run across something I am unfamiliar with I look it up and ask for help. That has worked very well for me to this point.

I am curious about the format of the game - is it 'online' as in message board or email? or perhaps IM/chat at a specific time?

I'd be interested in a game that didn't require me to be online at a specific time, as I can't guarantee that I could regularly. :\

And I have DMed a fair bit for 2e, but not much with 3.Xe.

Thanks

Hi, Raging. I believe the format will be to use OpenRPG (www.openrpg.com), which is a virtual tabletop software. It would be like face to face play, but live over the Internet. I'm not sure of any current play by post games going on in T13K, though there have been some here and there.

The format for the games will be to play using the OpenRPG online chat environment. The rules set will be D&D 3.5.

I envision the rotating DM's chair to be changed each adventure. An adventure may last for more than a single session. Once an adventure is completed that DM will then revert to playing a character and another player will run an adventure of one or more sessions. The exact order and progression of this can be decided once we have a group of six who are interested.

My available time to play is also quite variable R.E. (angry nosebleed?) so a set schedule for play is not possible for me. It would be nice to have a session every 2-3 weeks I believe. Any more and time constraints will be a problem for me. Any less and it is too long between sessions for continuity. Of course, if we find 6 people who want a weekly game that is great. I will give up my spot in that situation and be available for support as the CM of Kinrisar.

Sure Entropy I'll play here, little worried about the DM position because I dont have OpenRPG mastered yet, but I can deal with it. Would you want me to use a differnet character than the one I used in Raging Bear (Rog2)? And how often would we meet, I assume once every three weeks or so because you said you have a busy schedule? Drop me an email (loki4798 at aol dot com) if you want, but I will check posts here more frequently so I will be in touch. Sounds like a great idea.

I would like to get the group of six together to decide those things Tate. We all are going to DM at one point so we should all have some say in how it is organized. Once we have six then we can proceed with that.

Meeting every 2-3 weeks is what I have in mind. More like 3 for me.
