Hi all!
I've been around this joint since 1999. I've gone through periods where I've posted quite a bit and I've gone through periods of relative inactivity. Through it all, I would like to think that many of you have become friends. Yes, I've had my differences with some of you, but such is the nature of the inernet.
I'm starting up a new personal forum. Right now it's hosted on a free server, so that means that there are banner ads at the top, but that's OK. I mean just because I'm throwing a party doesn't mean that anyone's going to actually show up. I want to see if a community forms, and if it does, I might go for some better software on a real server. You can find it here.
So what's this forum all about? Here's the deal. As you know, I am an RPG freelancer, with such books as the Book of Exalted Deeds, Serpent Kingdoms, and D20 Apocalypse under my belt, with more on the way. To a certain extent, this will be a typical gaming forum where you can come and talk about anything D20. You can come to talk about me (yes, I know exactly how egotistical that sounds, and I love it! Bwuhahaha!), or you can discuss a number of other things, including politics, religion, real life, etc. The subject matter is completely open, just make sure you read the rules posted in the Introductions forum. Most importantly, I'm interested in growing a community, not a cult of personality. I'm just an ordinary joe who also happens to do some game design.
Fair warning however. Unlike ENWorld, which is very much a safe harbor from abuse and internet ugliness, I guarantee no such protections on my boards. My moderation will be at my whim. In other words, if you choose to come, enter at your own risk and try to have a thick skin. Also, please, please, stick around for a while. Since this is a brand new community, I'm quite certain that it will take some time to get moving.
Finally, try to be nice to the Lady of Pain. You won't be happy if she becomes angry with you.
