A lot more flash and noise. I suspect this is another of those movies where there are music jokes galore, but they only work if you already know the music. (And the movie assumes that you do).

Another whatnow?

I'm familiar with the concept of stories with pop-culture references that may be missed by those unfamiliar with them, but music jokes in particular? I wasn't aware that was a thing.

Sure it is. Frequent assumptions of familiarity with 70s, 80s, and 90s music, and the soap-operas and back stories of the bands. Most blatant and obvious is Shrek, but there are many others.

Strange - my familiarity with 70s and 90s music is limited, and I've never been interested in bands' backstories, yet I enjoyed Shrek greatly and didn't feel like I was constantly missing jokes. Did I do it wrong?

If you did wrong so did I.

Looking forward to this film. Finally a proper Space Opera film.

Looks like a fun movie.

The music overlaying this trailer is a huge problem though ... way too loud, and it gives the impression that the scenes can't hold up on their own. And give the impression that the movie might be one which attempts to drive itself too quickly into action by pummeling any thinking process. That doesn't seem to work out very well (IMO).

Thx!
