And that's fair.I would not force the player to switch. But I would not give them any goodie frome the new rules either.

Good thing this is all speculation on both our parts. There's no way to know.I am confident you are totally wrong. 5e is not done yet. Too many people have fun.
Although it is fact that many people (not you of course) have fun with WotC 5e.Good thing this is all speculation on both our parts. There's no way to know.
that assumes that 2024 is not what the designers wanted to accomplish, I see no evidence for thatI never said best game for me. None of this is about me. I mean the best game for what the designers want to accomplish. Not their "D&D is undermonetized" corporate employers.
Sure, but that has nothing to do with whether or not the designers made the game they wanted to make, that met the goals they wanted to meet. All that says is that the game they are currently iterating on was and is popular.Although it is fact that many people (not you of course) have fun with WotC 5e.
There's no way to know. But we do know Hasbro's motivations, and they're not about making the best product.that assumes that 2024 is not what the designers wanted to accomplish, I see no evidence for that
Yeah. They probably wanted to do some more. But I really respect them that they did not force everything in. They were just adamant where it was absolutely necessary. (Paladin smites for example).Sure, but that has nothing to do with whether or not the designers made the game they wanted to make, that met the goals they wanted to meet. All that says is that the game they are currently iterating on was and is popular.
just like any other companyThere's no way to know. But we do know Hasbro's motivations, and they're not about making the best product.
But the 2024 paladin is arguably the only straight nerf. Why wouldn't you play the 2014 one instead?
Maybe, but I'm not going to forget that "D&D is undermonetized" comment any time soon. Given how successful the game was at that point, there's no non-greed way to look at that.just like any other company
