New news page

How long does the cookie last on that page? Everytime I go to the page I have to login.

Also, Can you make it so that when you login it takes you back to the page you were viewing and not your user options page?

Finally, why is the login so far down the side of the page?

1. Mine has lasted since I first logged in 10 days ago. Try clearing out your cookies or checking your preferences, that sort of thing. Make sure you check the "Remember me" box when you log in.

2. No, it's packaged software and I have no control over that.

3. Gravity. It slipped down there because it was so heavy. :)

What's the difference between the sites? Is there any real difference?

I don't understand the question - there's a vast and (tto my eye) very obvious difference. The new site has a different background, is laid out in a different way, has different items in the menus on either side.

I'm on Netscape 4.79, and I don't see the difference between the new and old pages - it's all black fonts on dark grey backgrounds. I have to highlight stuff to read it. (I'm having similar problems with the messageboards - the threads are readable, but the summaries aren't).

Am I missing a setting somewhere?

I think you're looking at the wrong web page. The new and old pages are two different websites which only resemble each other in a fairly superficial way. Even the placement of the EN World logo is different, let alone anything else.

Well, you probably check up on the page far more often than I do, Morrus. If I skip a day, I have to login again. And that's why 2 and 3 are very annoying.

Oh, and the page takes forever to load. Another reason why a static page is better. The old, unupdated since sept 24 page loads instantly when I click its bookmark.
