New Nymph Illo

I have to agree with Gez about the Satyr... The new illu is ok, but it really is not even in close proximity of a SATYR!

Satyr != Minotaur. The illustrator seems to have messed up the two. Even if they both have hooves (spelling?) and horns, they are totally different creatures.

Satyr in a picture would be lying on a comfortable meadow, having beautiful women around caressing him, while he plays panpipes. Satyrs do not fight around, they are tricksters and guys who mix well with women... or at least want to.

Especially they are not minotaurwannabes with bloodlust, warring all the time, as the picture shows.



About dryad and nymph... well, I like Elmores pics. The new ones are nice too, but you can bet I'll be saving those old pics too. They ...intrigue me more than the new ones.

New Satyr Pic: "I'll rip yer bloody head off you you @*#$&*!@#^$%!! And shove my pipes where the sun don't shine!"

I am SO glad they quit using DiTerlizzi's art in the 3E books.

not entirely... if you're paying attention, you can spot some of his work in the MM and MM2 at least.

And if someone hadn't pointed them out i don't think would have ever noticed the Nymph's ears. *Drool*

.. but nothing more shocking than the picture of Loviatar in the 1e Deities & Demigods. 'S cool.

As for the satyr, perhaps it's the original conception for the miniature. You've heard that WotC is coming out with D&D miniatures, haven't you?

I like the New Nymph but I loved the 3e-Dryad, so I see this web feature with mixed feelings.
