I'm actually gonna miss Commander-in-Chief, which was plagued with behind-the-camera problems -- creator Rod Lurie was fired for being late with the scripts, replacement Steve Bochco doing a poor performance -- as well as scheduling problem (was happy it aired before Boston Legal).

Not very impressed with the new shows to fill in the slots formerly occupied by Alias, Invasion, C-in-C, etc.

Looks to me like Lost will be the only thing on ABC I will watch and even that is up in the air. Maybe something will jump at me when I start seeing previews.

Six degrees sounds interesting, but without knowing any more details, I can't really say anything more about it. Six people each affecting each other's lives without them knowing it also sounds lame though. Bah, I have no idea. Depends on what goes on I guess.

Day Break. Why does that idea sound so familiar? I would have SWORN I'd heard of something like that before. Cop show with a twist. Don't know if I really care about it though. Beyond that, don't see much interesting.

The two shows that are must watch for me will continue to be Lost and Grey's Anatomy (one of the best written shows on the air). Out of the new shows, the most interesting seems to be The Nine. Why? The actors are a solid bunch who know how to carry a show. And one of the executive producers worked on the West Wing. Not sure it's gonna be good but it appears to have the most promise and appeal to me.

And did anyone else catch that hottie Kelly Hu is in a comedy (In Case of Emergency)? They gave away the stuff in the pilot in the blurb so all that surprise is gone. But it's directed by Jon Faverau and Jonathan Silverman, Greg German & Lori Laughlan (who I've always liked) star. Unfortunately, they are all cancelled out by David Arquette. Oops.

Wow. Look at how many new shows revolve around "writer-tricks".
Following on the 'gimmick' of 24 and the flashbacks and mysteries of Lost, it seems like almost every new show is trying something along those lines.

The Nine (flahsbacks) and Six Degrees (mystery) sound interesting enough to try. Daybreak's trick (groundhog day) is too obnoxious to try, but I really enjoyed the blurb for The Traveler even though it makes it feel like a 2-person cast and I always hate shows like that.

Yeah. Nice to see a local girl -- who still enjoys Spam musubi -- done good in Hollywood.

But not the kind of show I'd kill to see.

You mean people DON'T like Spam and rice? Heresy!

There's nothing at all on ABC left but Lost. I guess I get to watch more History Channel this year.

Kelly Hu, mmmmm.

Rumor has it that they are talking about moving LOST to Thursday night but that is a rumor but they are going to reduce number of reruns during the season (see news page).

Fewer Lost reruns is about the only good news from ABC right now.

Sure you don't mean Cop Rock? :D

I find it hard to get too worked up about any of these descriptions--except for Betty the Ugly, whose concept is, if as described there, actively repugnant.

EDIT: I see from Slate that Betty the Ugly is based on Soy Betty, la Fea from Colombia. I doubt that that excuses it, but it does sort of explain the title.
