DC 15, with cover, and turns you invisible.

Am I reading this right that you can hide around a corner and just walk past the guards at the front entrance?

Suggested fix.
In the Hide action, add
You also lose the condition if you end your turn with no cover and no concealment

How does an enemy find you if you're invisible? Like if one uses detect invisibility, then everyone can now see you, no communication needed?

Anyway, this is likely to get refined through editing and playtest. I wouldn't put much stock in a pre-release verbal explanation of anything.

Impossible to know without seeing the actual rules text for finding creatures. The red text is Treantmonk's own insertion and mentions the Search action, but for all we know it may also say that an enemy automatically finds you if you no longer have cover or concealment from it.

This is based on an early copy of the phb, now that the nda has lifted. The rpgbot review describes stealth and see invisibility in the same way

I mean, I don't know what your DM will do.....but if a PC moves in front of a guard, they should get a perception check....with a lot of bonuses (again, might not be RAW?)
Fair. You probably should assume guards are taking the search action each turn.

But assuming you beat them (and DC 15), you can still walk right in front of their face.

It's not a flat DC at that point, IIRC from above, but your roll. Making it even harder most likely? It's definitely a tricky thing I'd likely hand wave if there is no chance to actually hide.

D'oh! Should have glanced at threads before posting on the other thread. In any case copied over ...

The reason I don't like a static stealth target is because it should be easier to sneak past a sleeping guard than an alert ancient red dragon. I can grant advantage/disadvantage on the check of course but that to me is not enough. Like I said above, it's one of those rules I'll ignore in my home game unless there's optional rules in the DMG.
