New Tavern Thread: The Hanged Man

"Bye, bye, Punch Brother and Punch Sister! I see you later! I love you both!"

Tonk waits for Dextyr to leave, then throws his arm around Dextyr's shoulder and exits with his friend.

Janus is left aghast by the interuptiond during the conversation, "Hmmm, looks like we have a lass to save." Janus mumbles to himself as he shuffles out the door, trailing behind the eager warriors.

Dextyr leaves the tavern giving Tristan and Mikara a final wave goodbye. He heads out with Tonk in tow off to complete their next quest.

As Dextyr and Tonk leave the tavern, something by the door catches Mikara's attention, making her doubletake. She gets up and staggers over to the wall and tears the wanted poster from the wall.

"Sorry fellas.
We already cashed in on this one."

Shorrin gathers his belongings and politely excuses himself from his conversation with Psais. "Until the gods allow us to meet again. May I find you in good health."

Gellan continues to stare at his drink as the dragonborn excuses himself. Roused from his appraisal, he hastily says "Spirits watch over you," to Shorrin's back, then returns his gaze to the coconut. Watching Psais drink his with evident enjoyment, he cautiously takes a sip.

Then another.

"It is very sweet. Is that to hide the taste of the alcohol?"

As Dextyr and Tonk leave and say their farewells, Tristan waves and calls a goodbye to them. "Dayna keep you free, punch brothers. I hope our paths cross again as well."

Seeing Mikara go and take down their wanted poster brings a smile to Tristan's face. Well, more of a grin. "Haha, that was still up? I'm surprised the priests didn't take it down, with this tavern's reputation. I'm also surprised all these adventurers weren't out there still looking for us. That's what drives most of them, isn't it? Gold, so-called riches?"

"Not the stuff itself, but that which it can do.
Better if you spend it than to carry it with you."

Mikara flips another coin to the bartender.

"Make it six barkeep!"

The coin nearly hits the bartender in the head, but his palm is fast from years of practice. He fields the flying currency and pockets it. With the other hand, he turns the tap on the tun.

Nothing...just...thought I saw something. Excuse me for a moment.

Well gentlemen, since perfect knowledge is, for the time being, barred to us, and since we all seem so eager to venture forth and risk life and limb for whatever reason, I am certain we will all learn who among us right, in time. Until then, to plesant company and conversation, to good fortunes and auspicious fates. Cheers.
Concern is clear upon Psais' face, but he is respectful of what others choose not to say, so he doesn't question further. When the distracted Deva makes his toast, Psais raises his coconut and takes another sip.

"But for my part, I have travelled this far from my homeland because the gods have told me an artifact that was sleeping in the tomb of an old hero in my homeland has been robbed. The only thing I know, it is a group of adventurer that came from this Tavern that took the artifact. I had no success yet on finding them, and form the group who is here, I see none that fit the description." explains Feyr to Psais.
As Psais listens carefully to Feyr's story, he removes the paper umbrella from his drink and experiments with it's moving parts, taking delight from the simple action of putting the umbrella up and down. When the halfling finishes his tale Psais tucks the open umbrella behind his ear and smiles at the table's occupants.

"If you have descriptions of these people, please share them; I would be happy to keep my eyes open and let you know if I hear or see anything."
Shorrin turns to Psais, "Our lives for the life of another. Such is the way it is."
As the couple tell of their need, Psais cocks his head as though listening to the whispers of someone stood over his shoulder, and a small sheen of sadness come over his eyes. "Indeed, I will have to wish you luck and speak with you when you return; I'm afraid that this path is not for me, there is another that I must take." he replies to his new friend.
Shorrin gathers his belongings and politely excuses himself from his conversation with Psais. "Until the gods allow us to meet again. May I find you in good health."
"May your footsteps be on the path of legend Shorrin, we shall meet again!" The deva bows deeply to the dragonborn as he leaves with his new companions.

"Most likely." Psais replies with a nod.

A a small figure, under 5' tall, makes it's way out of a nearby sewer entrance and heads to the tavern. It's mantle cloak is gray and tends to blend into most backgrounds. At the entrance, one of the bouncers asks for the name as the figure tries to walk through. In a barely audible voice it says "Jade." It then starts making its way to the least populated area of the establishment...

[sblock=to Tristan & Mikara, Zharne says this in elven]"Fair be our meeting, for our hearts are light and our swords sheathed, we hold peace in our hands and its light guides us"[/sblock]

"So I take it that you three are hunters?", Zharne asks Mikara, Tristan and Gellan, "I consider myself something of hunter myself, say what is your preferred prey?"
