The first "season" (the miniseries) and second season of The 4400 were great. After that, it started to go downhill.

After reading this about So what is 'The Event,' anyway? – The Marquee Blog - CNN.com Blogs I don't think I'll be watching the series anymore. The "event" has not been revealed yet and with a 5 year story arc I can't really care at this point.

Hawaii 5-0 turns out to not be my kind of show, and not particularly reminiscent of the original. Bleh.

I will probably watch one more episode or so and see if they get better. My initial reaction though was that they really don't know how to tell a story so we'll just jumble up the timeline to make it seem like there is more going on than there really is. Not very impressed, but I'll give it one more chance.

I'll stick with it for a bit. It screamed "trying too hard!" the entire time but I can't say I wasn't entertained. Not bad for a pilot and the acting was solid.

The jumping around in time was a bit over the top, but I liked The Event. I'll stay for a few episodes at least.

Also, The Event itself is not the plane disappearing. In the flashback (eight months ago) with Lee talking to mysterious ER-actress lady, they talked about the The Event as having already happened.

Yeah, "The Event" pilot was a bit disappointing. It felt like 30 minutes of story crammed into an hour. I will give it 4 episodes to shape up and grab me.

It's like all those years they worked on "24" they wanted to do a flashback or two, but couldn't, being locked in to the relentless clock. Now given the freedom to jump around, they're going too far in the other direction...
