It is pretty funny how most people on this thread all know what the secret thing is, and are talking to each other about how we feel about the secret thing, without actually saying the name of the secret thing...

Would be hilarious if we all actually did get completely different videos!
It would be hilarious, but it’s definitely not the case, as we can see from other sources where people are not being nearly as coy about it as we are.

Yeah, and all the variations over the years. Nightvision, Infravision, Darkvision, Low-light vision. I would rather bring back infravision and seeing heat signatures in the dark, than using a vision type that allows any kind of normal sight in full darkness.
Splitting darkvision and low-light vision makes sense. Underdark races should have darkvision and above ground races with exceptional senses should have low-light vision. But 2/3 of all PC races shouldn’t get darkvision. It’s silly.

You all have also basically revealed what it is, based on a little bit in one person's post and a little bit in another person's post.
Maybe it's a ploy. In order to get more people talking about it, they say we can't talk about it. Sort of like when your parents told you not to do something. What's the first thing we did? Exactly.
Or it's intended to help them in contract renegotiations.

It's much worse on Reddit. The whole shebang is out and about. Not sure what they were thinking with this.

That they're asking big sweeping questions about the core elements of the player experience certainly feels like we're either about to get another Everything book (which would be kind of a surprise), a race book (which would also be kind of a surprise), or they're spinning up for the 2024 edition.
I just don't see them doing 6E when they have huge year after year growth unless they are worried about some of the problematic elements?
