New Years Resolutions -- What does 2005 hold for you?

Well, it's getting to the point where people tend to make resolutions for the new year. Here are mine. What are yours? Simple enough.

  • I'm not getting sick in 2005.
  • I"m going to start saving/planning for Gencon now, so when August rolls around, I'm not surprised.
  • I'm going to game at least twice a month.
  • I'm going to design/construct at least one of the costumes on my ever expanding list.
  • I'm going to fill out my applications for study-abroad on time.
  • I'm going to start fencing and/or martial arts again.

Well, we may have just sold our house in Kansas! (Yea!) So, that means my responsibility for 2005 is to save so that I can buy a new house once our lease is up next November.

That, and I really would like to get below 200lbs. I'm at 210 now, so it's totally conceivable. I just have to put forth some effort.

Going back to the gym. Long story but at one point I was 6'6" 270 and built and well, for the last three years, that aren't been the case...

Diet: This ties into the gym. No point in going to the gym and not eating right. I find that because i'm not at home as much as I used to be due to the move, I eat at resteraunts a lot more and don't eat right.

DMing: I moved in May and it has seriously effected my ability to GM. It may sound stupid, but I'm an off the cuff type of guy who knows where all his books are and can quickly flip to them and tie stuff together right then and there that makes it seem like that was my intent all along. My new place is too small to host so I've been going over my GMing style, trying to keep some of the strengths and working on getting the details down and written out ahead of time.

Goal #1 is to start going back to the gym and keep swimming for exercise. I lost 15 lbs between October 1 and Thanksgiving, then promply gained 7 lbs back when I stopped swimming. My goal is to be below 180 and stay there.

Goal #2 is to hike at least twice a month. I live to damn close to the mountains not to take advantage of them.

Goal #3 is to really start saving $.

Goal #4 is to clean up my game room so we can actually use it for gaming.

hmmmm... goals:
1) the ever present need for diet and gym- need to continue and advance the good works of this year

2) get a promotion- or make them fire someone above me and take thier job :)

3) spend more time just me and my husband. We get too caught up in other things and often don't get that quiet time just us.

4) Not a goal more a quest... see about DMing. Since this is one of those based in the fear that I would be a horrible DM it should be bumped up to an actual goal this year :)

5)-10) I just have to figure out before Saturday, write em down, put them under my desk, and check them off as I go.

Come on, it'll be fun. You know you want to. :)
