hey guys, i just thought i would tell u, a HUGE party really sucks at times. I have done a game in real life with 7 people in it, and there was soo much conflict, and the DM had too much work and didnt have time to pay attention to the party itself.

True, but that's an IRL game (I personally find 6 players the max in a realtime game). In games by post, the DM has some more time overlooking all the replies, so that wouldn't matter much. Handling 1 party of 8 people wouldn't neccesarily require more time than handling 2 parties of 4 people.

They all sound interesting.

#1 and #2 fit the bill in terms of seeing what its all about.

#5 does seem to allow the possibility of crossover and cooperation between teams as things progress, which could be interesting.

So, #5, then #1 or #2 equally.

Hmm, everyone replied in a reasonable time save for SplitMage. I'll ask her to check if she knows what's going on next time I see her on IRC.

IMO, in a HUGE party, most newer people like most of us would get very lost, and i find myself losing interest if i have a nill effect on the party im in. So i figure most people feel the same way.

When we started in Academy of Drell, we had around 7 or 8 people... and I think we're still at that number. There are no problems - everyone is involved equally, and no-one is left out of the storyline.

If you want to, take a look at it... my sig should lead you to the various threads. You'll see that, though our group was somewhat divided most of the time, that we all were roughly aware of each other, and everyone had an impact on the story...

Remember, as well, that even though most of us (all of us? Not really sure...) weren't newbies to PbP, we all still had to get used to each other. That adjustment period takes time, but eventually, even with a larger group, you'll all get used to each other.

we can play a 8 person party, thats fine with me, i just havent had good experiences with big games... but hey as long as its a game im there. I would just prefer one of the 2 i picked.
