Can we use your comments as an example?

Sure! Of what would you like to use them as an example?

You gave me a great idea for DMG II, though. DMGs are supposed to be full of obscure, marginally useless tables. How about:

Random Playground Comeback Table (Roll 1d30 and divide by 5)

:1: - "I know you are but what am I?"
:2: - "I'm rubber and you're glue!"
:3: - "Your momma!"
:4: - :p
:5: - "I kill you!"
:6: - "I'm TELLING!'

Now where did I put that Wizards Freelancer application?

Tagging it won't make it humor. Looks like an edition war thread to me.

Same here, considering no attempt is made to hide the extreme bias and insulting nature of most of the alleged "humour".

Don't think too much about fantasy.

Uh-huh, but how about you use the brain power you save on that to add the real funny. Also very hard to believe you don't think it's biased. You'd have to be pretty far up yourself to REALLY think that, I'd have though. Maybe not.

Now edited for more game balance. Nothing was removed or changed, but I added some stuff. I honestly didn't intend this to be a 1-sided portrayal. Arguing on the internet is all sound and fury, signifying nothing. Don't think too much about fantasy.

Ahh, a Hong devotee.

This explains the "humor."

When I first read the thread, I was thinking it was an anti-4E rant, though a really funny one. If the "haters" (is there a better, more polite and accepted term?) think it's poking fun at them, then I think maybe I'm wrong and both interpretations are victims of cognitive bias. In retrospect, I think the OP was throwing rocks at the extremes of both sides (in a very Ambrose Bierce manner, which I applaud), because both sides are often too sensitive. And I do seem to recall the OP making fun of "gamists," so this was an equal-opportunity parody.

It's a joke. Laugh. (or else!)

D&D: It's serious business.
"This is Advanced, Mark; ADVANCED!!!"
