D&D 5E (2024) Next issue of Game Informer will have details on the two upcoming Forgotten Realms books

So far, these are the monsters and NPCs I have heard are in the books and digital expansions:
• Spirit dragons
• The Drow of Lolth
• Manshoon (NPC)
• Sammaster (NPC)
• Phaerimms (Including new types in Netheril's Fall)
• Biha Babir the giant genie (NPC)
• Devil worshipping vampires (in Astarion's Book of Hungers)
• Ice serpent (if my detective skills don't deceive me)

Any others that we know of?
It was implied around the time of the MM release that classic Duergar would also be here, IIRC.

The Chosen of the Dead Three, Gortash, Orin, and the other one. That alone will help sell the book.

Also mentioned at least one faction in addition offering magic items, housing, NPC Helpers, offers a Dragon's Egg. Give you three guesses to at least one of them.

The listed 42 Gods have Epic Feats that grant that make you a Chosen of that God. Given there are only 34 feats in the book I imagine they will have to share these feats.

The Epic Feats are attached to domains, no specific gods. So an Epic Boon might be for the Life domain, which can be conferred by a Life Domain Deity.

The idea that you have to be level 19+ to become a Chosen is weird to me, since there are plenty of examples in previous 5e books no less of random commoners being the Chosen of various gods. I know it was more a thing during the Sundering and the numbers of Chosen have diminished since but still ...

IIRC the D&D Next adventure, Legacy of the Crystal Shard, included some guidelines for allowing level 1 PCs to be Chosen without mechanically overpowering their fellows. Let me see if I can find those.

EDIT: Here we go!

I guess having low-level (or no level) Chosen was a special thing during the Sundering but still ... I guess I'll just have to think of the Chosen Epic Boon feat as the demigod version of a Chosen. If a player wants their PC to be a Chosen at low levels, we can still say they are but they'd only get something minor to start with.

I thought there was talk of Orcs of Gruumsh being one as well.

As an aside: I think one of the worst decisions WotC made in the early 5e transition era was to wipe out the Kingdom of Many-Arrows. They had been steadily building it up as an example of orcs growing beyond their savage nature and would've been a perfect vehicle for introducing their new take on the species ... but no, they had to throw the baby out with the bathwater by having their Second Sundering undo everything that had occurred in the 4e era, good and bad.
