NG vs. N: Neutral Good Victorious!

The mob of natural fury is reinforced by Boris' old girlfriend Bertha, and the pile of fur and claws moves to attack the gargantuan opponent. Autumn actually doesn't summon another creature, instread boosting Greyshadow's teeth and claws.

Autumn (60N15E): Complete SNA4 as another Brown Bear, Bertha at 90N70E (limits of range!), then MEA to 65N25E, Std: Greater Magic Fang on Greyshadow.
Bertha (90N70E): Full Attack on the reptile
Boris (70N40E): 5" step to 75N40E, Full Attack on reptile
Greyshadow (60N30E): Charge to 70N50E, attack reptile
Aria (60N40E+40Z): Fly to 95N45E, Zap attack the reptiles' 95N50E square (unthreatened square)

(Now to see if any of them can actually penetrate the thing's hide. I'm pretty sure Bertha will give both Boris and Greyshadow flanking.)

The reptile is at 50N80E. Boris cannot attack the reptile with a 5-foot step.

Also, there was a mistake (a mistake in the Monster Manual III? That cannot be!) in Autumn's skill points, so she was able to identify the reptile as an apatosaurus. She knows that it is an animal, knows its animal traits, and knows that its tail can stun and deafen when it strikes.

You can change your move, given this new information.

Okay, I was way off in where I put the apatosaurus down on my worksheet, which also invalidates the placement of Bertha. So I need to redo the whole shebang. Whoops!
And, knowing that it's an animal, a new gambit opens up just to make the army all the bigger!

Autumn (60N15E): Complete SNA4 as another Brown Bear, Bertha at 40N40E. Then move to 50N30E behind Greyshadow, cast Charm Animal on the Dino to convince it that it should be fighting with the forces of natural good, not against us.

Boris (70N40E): MEA to 60N40E, Ready attack if the dino attacks.
Greyshadow (60N30E): Advance to 50N40E, Ready attack if the dino attacks.
Bertha (40N40E): Hold position, Ready attack if the dino attacks.
Aria (60N40E+40Z): Fly to 50N50E+40Z, Ready attack if the dino attacks.

L10

Dino seems to like Autumn (14 Will save).

Round 562

A 12-foot high iron statue strides into the arena to 40N110E and punches Dino (rolled 41) for 24 points of damage. Dino has 310 HP remaining. The statue also breathes a cloud of gas at Dino, but Dino is unaffected (28 Fort save).

Dino smacks the statue with his tail (45-4=41), knocking the statue out of the arena (9 Ref save).

Autumn and everyone else in her entourage get to act before the next creature comes out. Only Greyshadow can be given commands by Autumn, so Boris should be back at 70N40E and Aria should be back at 60N40E40Z.

Man, you'd think that Druids would keep Speak with Animals loaded for reasons like this. Will adjust play of their moves accordingly.

I like the old-style where druids got speak with animals continuously for free. This lack makes clerics/wizards more powerful in their summoning because they invariably summon something that can at least understand them.

My druid in Gansk's game always has one prepared, and also likes turning into a brown bear to be able to speak to her animal companion. She also occasionally has the bard cast tongues on her so that she can talk to summoned elementals and arrowhawks. She used to have a scroll with speak with animals, just in case she needed to use the spell twice. The scroll ended up being used by the party bard when my druid died, so that someone else in the party could talk to her animal companion. That reminds me; I need to scribe a new scroll when in town.

Yeah, my party conjurer loves being able to talk to her summoned bison and huge centipedes. :)

Autumn (50N30E): Casts Spike Growth, so that the first 20" of the entire neutral entry side is now is covered in spikey roots. (i.e. the square from 115N100E to 00N115E)

Greyshadow (50N40E): Hold position, Readied attack.

Entourage:
Boris (70N40E): Hold position, readied attack.
Bertha (40N40E): Hold position, Readied attack.
Aria (50N50E+40Z): Hover, Readied attack.
Dino (50N80E): Hold position, Readied attack.

(I'd make the spikes go farther, but then it would affect Dino, and I don't want Dino to be unhappy. :) )
