NHL Playoffs: Confernce Finals

(Nabokov though has to have another monster game to win in Cal.)

I don't think he needs to be great, he just can't be avaerage or worse, plus the rest of the team has to play good in front of him. San Jose is the better team and te Flames are still missing a couple of defensemen, if the Sharks play as hard as Calgary they'll win more often than not.

Seems that alot of teams this year have said something to that effect ..."We'll just play as hard as them, and since we are a "better" team, we will surely win"...

My money is on Calgary.

Kippy is just as good as Nabokov. Difference I feel, Nabokov can raise his level. Not sure if Kippy can. Even so, 4-1 loss isn't helping your cause any more than some of the Flyer's play. Still, I believe in the Flames. (They just need to play on the road more! ;) )

Well yeah, thing is no one's bothered to yet. They all talk a good game, but don't play one. The Flames on the other hand keep plugging away and playing hard.

WHat I found funny today was the talking heads on ESPN talking about how SJ would have the advantage if they won the game because they were going home for game five, completely ignoring the fact neither team had won a game at home or even bothered to play well.

Finally what's with all of the pathetic power plays? I think TB leads this round with four and at least two those came in losses.

Calgary needs to stick with this plan:

1) get to overtime
2) Put Martin Gelinas on the ice.

That's only for clinching the series, try it out too soon and it won't work. Of course after the win tonight, it will be time on Weds.

For other games what they need to do is make sure Iginla is fired up at the end of the previous game due to an altercation of some sort.

Well that went down like a lead balloon. Only consolation was they weren't entirely blown out. But a third goal would helped the cause. Guess we'll have to hope for a Game 6 win if they want to stay in.

You should know about me and hope by now, I guess I'll be rooting for the Flames even more now, my kingdom for a home win!

Home ice may not matter in this round, but scoring first sure does.

Not a 100% true, Wel. Game 4, Bolts scored first. Flyers won that one. But yes scoring first matters a great deal, especially in the first period. Also would be nice to see a PP goal for the P Guys.

I'm still holding out hope that Tampa and Calgary can close out thier conference finals in the sixth game, but I must say last nights game was a wild ride.
