Niobe's Dilemma (Manzanita Judging)

Bernard brings out a large plate of meat, sliced pork and beef, with some gravy boats on it. He quickly leaves and returns with a bowl of mashed potatoes, another bowl of mixed vegitables, and a plate of warm bread.

"Of course. Once we have finished you can start wherever you like. And no, no one has left my employ since the old Stablemaster, John Jacobson, retired. His son, Jack Johnson took over for him about six months ago. Most of the full time staff lives in the lower east wing. The few that don't should be here in the morning."

(OOC: That's too bad. If Evilman McRansomson had recently left their employ swearing vengeance, it would have either been an easy mystery or more likely a big red herring :D)

Wilhelm dines well, showing his upbringing in his manners. He says little else, but listens intently to Lord Pician and his companions.

Jaan Saaresar, male human Servant of the Greenman

"Good. Then we have a place to start."

With that Jaan turns his attention to the food.

"This looks delicious. I haven't seen food like this for, well, a long time. A lot of care and attention has been give to creating this meal. I would suggest we give it the attention it deserves."

When Jaan and the others have eaten their fill, Jaan takes a momant to thank their host before suggesting that they get started with what travelled all this way for.

OOC: I'll get you the note tonight, and answer any last questions, and then I'll pause us untill I get back from vacation. That should let you think of exactly how you want to start.

Jaan Saaresar, male human Servant of the Greenman

After munching away for a while, Jaan turns to their hoste.

"Lord Pican, you said magical methods of location have been tried. Could you tell me who attempted the location, which spells were used, and what the result were if any?"

Jaan doesn't know a great deal about magic. A little more most perhaps, given his occupation. He knows that magic missile is a common, and relatively simple spell, and that teleportaion is a complex art, mastered by very few. Scrying is resonably complex, from what Jaan understands. Jaan can not help but wonder why they, four fairly ordinary folk from the Red Dragon were called on when the Barron seems to have access to much more experienced and capable people. Or should have.

(OOC: Yeah if anybody gets to high levels, it's going to get even more interesting.

"I need to find my missing fiancee."

"Egads! We four low-level characters shall aid you!"

"Hey buddy, I'm a 15th-level Wizard. She's in the shed behind the back of your house--she was kidnapped by Groundskeeper Willie."

"Shut up you! This is supposed to be an adventure for four 2nd-4th level characters!")

OOC: LOL. I'll have an answer to that Doghead, and any other questions you can think of. I'll be writing out more of the next part over my vacation, so we can get moving quickly after that. Sorry for the delay.
