Niobe's Dilemma (Manzanita Judging)

Lasair
"Don't attack my friend or any of the others who cease attacking, but attack any of the others at your leisure, especially that one who ordered the shot. He at least is not misunderstood. He is so evil that he acts against his own best interest to draw blood."

Troi's brow furrows, then he shrugs.

Too much talking. If it's a fight they're looking for, then it's a fight they get.

Leave the one she charmed for questioning. Take out the others... sounds like a plan, Troi. Get to it.

Troi takes a quick step up. "Well, since ya don' seem ta wanna do this th' easy way, I s'pose we kin do it th' hard way." He then lashes out at one of the horsemen with his whip.

[sblock=OoC]5 ft. step up to get within range, attack one of the horsemen using whip. +9, 1d4+2.[/sblock]

Jaan Saaresar, male human Servant of the Greenman.

- Round ? -

Jaan grins at Troi's declaration of intent. To be honest, the paladin was getting a little fed up with the bandits himself.

"I'll go left," he whispers to Wilhelm.

Jaan ducks back around the tree and moves in to attack one of the two horsemen. Hopefully if Wilhelm does the same, they should be able to get at a flank.

attack (dagger), damage. (1d20+4=18, 1d4+1=5), flanking bonus not included.

I think Jaan has only been hit once, for 6. He healed 4 himself. If thats the case, if Wilhelm offers more healing (in round 3?), Jaan will suggest Wilhelm save his spell for the moment.

I'd imagin that the conversation took more than a few rounds. Or do you want to just kick off from round 4?

You're right. It was in the surprise round 2 pages back. In that case he will accept Wilhelm's healing which puts him back to 27/28.

Perhaps its time for Lasair to get behind a tree and out of harms way :D

Perhaps its time for Lasair to get behind a tree and out of harms way

(OOC: Trust me--she's on her way :D :o Well, sorry about all that, but the fact that she figured out that these guys have useful info and one should be spared hopefully makes up for Lasair's naive assumption that these guys were mostly not evil and cruel, just desperate)

OOC: Sorta half-asleep (in my odd off day between nights and days, I work 3rd), so I'll process combat a little later :)

Wilhelm rolls around one side of the tree and strikes the nearest horseman with his dagger.

Jaan rolls around the other side and flanks the horseman, striking him. The horseman slumps in his saddle a bit.

Troi steps forward and lashes at the other horseman, striking him with a stinging hit of the whip.

The horseman between Jaan and Wilhelm attempts to withdraw, but is too close. Wilhelm misses but Jaan strikes true, droping the man from his horse. The horse continues to move, though unguided it slows to a trot.

The other horseman steps forward and swings at Troi, landing a sold strike to the head.

The archers fire from range, missing any target of consiquence.

Lasair (Spouts off her wisdom?)

OOC: Troi takes 10 points of damage. Lasair ends this round.

(OOC: Nah--they aren't going to listen in the middle of combat. Instead, she will say something else)

"If you surrender and drop your weapons, we can try to work this out," Lasair projects her voice loudly so that they can hear above the battle before moving completely behind a tree.

--- ROUND ?+1 ---

Jaan grabs the reins of the horse and, sheathing one dagger, swings up into the now vacant saddle.

"Get his weapon," Jaan says to Wilhelm.

Jaan wheels the horse around and moves towards the second mounted horseman, the one attacking Troi.

Ride +5. I assume that the bandit has something more subsancial than a dagger. Charge if possible. Attack ... well, don't you worry about that. IC wasn't loading up, so I rolled here. Its listed under Jaan.
