The group finished breakfast and heads out to the trail, following it in the general direction till it hits a road, less than a quarter mile from the estate. At the moment, the road seems to be well used, with several wagons moving both directions on it, and one wagoneer greets you with guards with drawn bows before he sees that you are not laying in wait and urges his guards onward quickly, ignoring any hails to the contrary.
 


"People here seem to be suspicious, but with good reason, considering that others who have the weapons to do so can and do prey on them. Let's follow the road in the direction the kidnapper went and look for trails and important landmarks."
 



Troi is unable to determine which direction that is. If the trail continued in the direction you were heading, it would be more natural to make the slight turn onto the road going east, (you were heading northeast), but they could have just as easily turned to the west.
