(OOC: Post 311. The suspect rode off to the road in the direction we were headed according to the bandits, so East)
OOC: Sure, if you're reading it that way :)

The group heads east down the road, and can easily spot a cart before and behind them, though well off. About a quarter mile down the road the woods come to an abrupt end an buildings begin to appear. A few shops, maybe a house or two, but mostly warehouses. Indeed, off in the distance, the road begins to drop down and head towards a valley. The road ends in a gate, though it Ts off in both directions. The gate is open, and carts regularly enter and leave through them.

Troi chuckles slightly as the buildings come into sight. "Well, I s'pose th' road leadin' straight ta someplace where bandits obviously hang out woulda been too easy, y'know?"

He looks to Lasair. "Maybe we should ask aroun', see if anybody saw th' bandits come through 'ere."

Those in the area know of the Barron, and confirm that this would be his domain, as would some other parts of Earling. One indicates that the Canal landing is his as well.

OOC: Oh, did I forget to mention the neon sigh that said Bandits this way? ;)

"We look not for bandits but for the kidnapper. He is almost certainly not a bandit. Looks like he may be associated with this baron though."

(OOC: Is the baron one of those who could benefit by scandal for Pician and Niobe?)

(OOC: Aha! I knew it...err, d'oh!)

*Lasair tries to see if anyone saw riders matching the description given by the bandits, though she doesn't find it overly likely unless the kidnapper was a moron.*

Troi and Lasair (and presumably Jaan and Wil) ask around, but other than some who are aware that she is missing (and many more who aren't), that seems to be the depth of their knowledge.
