Niobe's Dilemma (Manzanita Judging)

Wil finally understands Lasair's situation, or at least, remembers of it. "Ships are wooden vehicles that carry men and goods over vast bodies of water. They come in all shapes and sizes... perhaps it is best that we approach the docks. We can get information there as well"

As to the other part of her speech, he replies "I believe I understand what you mean by augeries, if they resemble the prayers I've heard tell of. Such a method of searching will get expensive quickly, however.

And these warehouses... they could hold anything within... even captives such as our quarry. This city is full of hiding places"

OOG: When we asked "around", I take it that we just queried the immediate area as opposed to going to taverns and the like and combing it for info?

OOC: Yes, just taking a few minutes, not the full hours of gather info.

[sblock=Troi]Troi is aware that there should be a river around here somewhere, though it's name escapes him at the moment other than as a tributary of he Mystic River, but he can't recall any significant body of water coming near Earling. (KN Geography check)[/sblock]

"What are our options now? As I see it, we could seek psychic help as well as ask around the taverns and pubs in the vicinity. My eyes are drawn to the docks, because if they needed to leave, then these would be a prime place to search for clues. Furthermore, they might have roomed in an inn here. We should send queries to those areas as well.

Thus, I propose that we should seperate to perform these tasks quickly. Unfortunately, my skills at information gathering are lacking. I am more soldier than speaker. But if there is a temple to Ayratha in the area, mayhap I can request an Augury of them as per Lasair's suggestion.

What say you? I must admit uncertainty in such a plan, but it is what I could come up with at the moment"

Wil nods and leads the way toward the docks, asking directions from commonfolk where needed.

"I am uncertain also about how we are to divide. People seem to react slightly better to you than to me. Mayhap you might lead the inquiries, Lasair?"

The docks are a bit different than you're used to for the most part. It appears that the water ends here, but splits off into 6 different smaller sections that are somewhat regular. Barge like flotilas are in some of the sections, being loaded or unloaded with various cargo. There aren't any passangers in the area.

[sblock=Troi]This isn't a natural formation. Likely a canal that was made running to the nearist Mystic River tributary.[/sblock]

*Lasair stares in fascination at the docks, equal parts tempted and afraid to stick her hand in the water or skip a stone.*

"I could try, but people here are so unusual...I'm not sure how to react to them sometimes."

*Lasair does her best to try and talk to people and ask questions.*
