Niobe's Dilemma (Manzanita Judging)

Having a little more info, and a more likely local, the party starts to canvas a bit more, and the party strikes gold. "I just saw a man like that not 5 minutes ago back that way, at the Barron's Champion. It's over that way a few blocks," (he points east).

(OOC: It's time for Troi to make like Toucan Sam and follow his nose!)

*Abandoning Ogrin's plan for the moment with thise more promising lead, they head to the place he was seen last and follow the scent trail which, so familiar to Troi, should be easy as cake to track so fresh.*

As you approach the tavern, you see a man dressed as you have described rides out on horseback. He spots you and immediately turns to run, his horse riding off swiftly down the road.

Troi immediately takes off after him, "I'll get him, you guys see what he was here about."

Jaan follows right behind, "You shan't go alone my friend," he says as he spurs his animal on.

As they pass the tavern, Troi points to it, "In there, I can smell it." as he rides by.

(OOC: ??? I know this is an attempt to write them out, but...Lasair has plans for what to do after capturing this guy. Plans that involve Suggestion. Why would we split the group up like that when the bad guy is right there? It seems obvious that whatever is in the tavern can wait a minute for us to ride him down, and if it can't, it is probably one of the patrons who will have vamoosed before we figure out which one. I'd say at most we would send one person to the inn.)

(OOC: Ah, we may need to send Ogrin and Razh away due to horse problems then. Lasair is untrained, but she doesn't need to make a check to ride at a full gallop. Was he ever within 35 feet of us? Probably not, I guess.)

(OOC: Raz is mounted, but Ogrin is not, though he has a boat  Ogrin is not nearly fast enough then, but he's our best only sneak and thus an excellent choice for the one guy to stay behind and scout out the inn so that when we get back we know what we have to do (in case, against all odds, it is a wretched hive of scum and villainy full of enemies :D))

OOC: No, he spoted you at well over 100' away, mostly because he knows Troi.

(OOC: Can we roll initiative after he spotted us? If Lasair somehow wins, the horse could canter 120 feet or gallop 240 feet and she can have a chance at one power)

OOC: I'll wait for the others to chime in on your plan.

The Barron's Champion looks like it once was a fine estabilishment, but it appears run down now. For a tavern with an inn, the building looks strangely small.
