Niobe's Dilemma (Manzanita Judging)

[SBLOCK=In the tavern]"Ah, so you cater to the gladiatoral crowd then? Or even the gladiators themselves? I had planned to visit one of the events, should my mistress let me have the day off - which, to be honest, is not likely."[/SBLOCK]

Ogrin then finishes his drink and heads outside to await the return of his friends.

OOC: Did I mention that IC hates you? Collectively you've rolled over a 10 twice, and the one hit did min damage.

(OOC: Ah well--we tried. Let's try one more round of the same (maybe he won't spur this time again and Lasair will get lucky and get into spell range). There's not much better we can do.)

The Chase...

He tosses something behind him as he urges his horse on, it speeds up at his urging, or perhaps it's own fear is pushing it on...

Troi yells "Caltrops!" as his horse approaches it, and he manages to pull his horse up.

Jaan is not so lucky, as his horse runs through them. He struggles to keep control of his horse.

Lasair (Who technicaly gets there first, but doesn't actualy because of Initiative...)

(OOC: I don't understand technically where she is anymore because of the changing around--it looks like we automatically lose though, so just have her do something that seems right, since it no longer matters)

Rasereit Vundinn, Dwarven Barbarian

Razh curses as he yanks back on his reins, avoiding the caltrops at all costs and giving up chase. "Bloody 'ell, that was 'opeless. Ye did good, g'el, ye did good," the dwarf reassures his mount as Razh watches his quarry retreat into the distance. "Well, per'aps Ogrin's been a tad more productive than we 'ave. Le's go back."

Troi calls back "I'm not giving him up. If I loose him I can still track him. I know him well."

Jaan says "I'll not let you go alone my friend."

The two continue to follow the man, though it doesn't look good for them.

The rest of you (Razh, Lasair, and Will) turn back to see Ogrin standing just outside the door waiting.

Wil watches his companions race away before turning to Ogrin.

"That was close and a missed opportunity. If we had only seen him before he saw us. Hmm... this must mean that he is aware of our hunting him.

Ogrin, did you find anything out in there?"
