I just noticed the Grand Prize, this year. Apparently every time you purchase $10 or more from a vendor, you get a raffle ticket...and at the end of the 'con, they have a drawing for a buttload of materials donated by each vendor.

That's pretty sweet.

I got to tell you, I'm starting to get pretty psyched. This will be the first "real" con that my wife & I go to. Really looking forward to it. Meeting new people, playing with new players, etc. Buying tons of stuff I don't need in the dealer room.

This year, we've arranged for the kids to be visiting relatives. This is our last mom/dad vacation of the year. I'm very psyched. Even more so that we'll be meeting with folks from the boards, and that we won't be the only married couple there.

We missed Shorecon 2K2, but 2K1 was a LOT of fun...and considering it followed two weeks right after 9/11 that year, that's pretty good.

This is our first "non-kids" getaway in a long time too. We were supposed to go to Key West (without the kids) in June, but my oldest daughter broke her arm the night before we were supposed to leave.

Only a few days to go, folks! Everyone who's going to be there, it would be a help if you'd chime-in again, just so I have an idea of how many badges to print/bring.

There should also be a bulletin board/announcement board somewhere at the 'con. I'll make sure and post an announcement there about the gathering, and any last minute changes will be noted there, as well.

Oh, and if folks want to get together ahead of time, like say for Dinner on Friday night or the like, some of us will be available for that, too.
