That's what dragonborn are on Krynn. I don't think they changed their origin story.

Dont like it. That can be it, it could have been it for 20 years, its not what it was.
 


The 2014 PHB literally says Dragons corrupted by Takhisis are a type of dragonborn. It's in the sidebar entitled "Draconians," which explains that the draconian of Krynn, with their canonical method of creation, are a type of dragonborn specific to the Dragonlance setting.

Which is again fine, for others who are not me.
 



Calling Draconians a type of Dragonborn.
That's just semantics. I am sure people on Krynn still call them draconians. Like they're a species of dragon people, it is the same thing, nothing got changed. All that happened was that the designers said "hey, we have these rules for dragon people, so you can use them for draconians." It's like saying that the kender are a type of an halfling.
