Nocturne of Sorrow, Orsal J

(OOC: No ranks in Survival? Who would have guessed Belkar was a dwarf  If you want to try to exploit random encounters for lots of XP, I know of a place nearby with some really nice Nightstalkers--those would level you up for certain! :])

*With the party member who is actually a competent scout (plus can see twice as far in these darkened lands) up front this time, the group does a lot better than just running headlong into enemies. They continue onward for seven days (allowing the group to heal and their essence to recover from the kite attack), using Quozen's eyes to avoid trouble, and based on Gloria's remembering of Rayne's calculations, they believe they are drawing closer.*

*However, despite Quozen's diligence, he cannot predict the attack from the pair of undead that bump into the main group from the side. The others call out as they see a hideous and slightly shrunken animated corpse covered in grime and grace dirt. It is accompanied by a vaguely humanoid shrouded form that glares with fiery green eyes, either dressed in robes or possessed of flowing ectoplasmic flesh. Dark symbols hang in the air about it and flit about and transform in free-standing glyphs of power as it floats through the air.*

*Dorrin is able to act first and presumably dashes back to the group, taking his action. Quozen will need to do the same on his turn.*

Bless: round 1/10; Jace: Full Health (or at least he better be after a week)

Jace also attempts to recognize the creatures, but drools all over his chin. Knowledge (religion) (1d20+2=3)Uug!, not again.
Jace shouts, "Valan, TURN!"
Jace moves to get as many allies as he can into range, and then casts his bless spell.

(OOC: @Dorrin--Not yet--I figure he didn't get a good chance to look because he was sprinting at full speed. Let's save that good roll, and he'll get the info on his turn next round)

*Hasin fires his bow at the corpse creature and misses badly.*

*The creature shrouded with strange symbols concentrates, and its symbols swirl around menacingly as if brandished, and they glow with a dark and menacing aura. Suddenly, Dorrin, Jace, and Valan feel a terrible dread, as if all they cherish had been ripped away from them in an instant. And in the next instant, it is gone...something important that they can't name at first, but then...they realise that they can't feel the comforting presence of their god any more. Not even a little. It's like having the umbilical cord cut. Everything, gone. Jace drools a bit from lack of knowledge and fails to notice this in the split second before his Bless spell chants, but they are in vain. The creature gives a thin and hateful grin as Jace's Bless simply...isn't.*

*Gloria fires her crossbow at the filthy corpse to assist Hasin, but she barely misses.*

(OOC Quozen, then EnemyA.

In Soviet Russia, Undead Turns You!)

Valan pauses and hits himself in the head almost comically as if trying to fix it. Slowly realization spread across his face, looking up the the newest foe. It's... Know(Religion) (11) an abomination!

Valan loosens his grip on his symbol, knowing that it won't help him in this particular hell.

Gripping it again, he starts towards the caster with no particular malice or anger. Just the grim knowledge that this thing must not continue it's existence.

Charging forward, Valan brings forth his sickle, He runs straight to the fiend ignore the possible danger for the second undead. Using his sickly Valan attempts to drive the caster to the ground keeping it from using it's demonic magics.

OoC: Valan will try to trip +3 to touch with sickle. +6 opposed strength.(Imp Trip) If failure abounds drop sickle. If success is assured then Free attack with sickle +3 1d6+2. +2 to attack if he can charge? I assume since he connection with his god has been severed he's not as luck anymore?(no reroll?)

(OOC: Part of the description of the thing that 'turned' the clerics was that the monster was ectoplasmic and floating in the air. Either one of those would make tripping it...difficult. I'd agree that there would be no luck domain reroll)

Quozen rushes in to battle the filthy corpse while the minds of the party focus on the ethereal spellcaster.

(Don't know if I make it in time to attack with a charge this round. If I can't I'll flank the corpse with Hasin and attack next round.)
