sorry. Tired of people getting away with this kind of stuff. Kind of has put us where we are in the world...
Consider that when you make posts like yours, you just fan flames. If you don't agree with someone, talk to them instead of insulting them. When you go the route you chose to, you are equally complicit in putting us 'where we are in the world'. This is a child's reaction. I would have loved to respond to that poster, but in a more measured way than you did, but their ban but the kibosh on that idea.

Try to see people with whom you disagree as human beings... that's a good start towards making the world a better place.

This, on the other hand, is not it. Not to say that straight calling a person a loser is a worthwhile endeavor, but it's especially difficult to "try to see people with whom you disagree as human beings" when the root of our disagreement comes from them not seeing me as a human being.

That is a challenge, absolutely. But it's helpful to remember that for the most part when folks make statements like this, it stems from ignorance or immaturity, not malice. If you take it as a personal affront instead of looking at it through that lens, for sure the challenge level of responding in a measured way is upped.

Bridging gaps doesn't happen through escalation.
