Nominate your MOST ANTICIPATED RPG of 2024

It's that time of year again--what's your most anticipated TTRPG of next year?

As I do every year, I'm taking nominations for the MOST ANTICIPATED RPG poll for the coming year. Here is last year's Top 10 (spoiler: the winner was Pendragon 6th Edition). Previous winners include 13th Age (2013), Star Wars Force & Destiny (2015), Rifts for Savage Worlds (2016), Trudvang Chronicles (2017), Vampire: the Masquerade 5th Edition (2018), Savage Worlds Adventure Edition (2019), Dune (2020 & 2021), Twilight 2000 (2021), Blade Runner (2022), and Pendragon 6E (2023). What will be the most anticipated RPG of 2024?

We do this at the end of every year, and have done for several years now! Here's how it works:

We start with a nomination stage. That's this thread. You may nominate any standalone tabletop RPG due to be released to the general public in 2024. All nominated games will appear on the final ballot. To nominate a game, simply make a reply in this thread. A few rules:
  1. It must be a standalone tabletop RPG, NOT a supplement, setting, adventure, sourcebook, expansion, or accessory. If there is a QuickStart version, or a preview, it’s the full release that counts.
  2. It must be due out to the general public in 2024. The important date is the date the general public can purchase the book. That's not Kickstarter fulfillment dates or pre-orders.
  3. It must be nominated by at least one person in this thread. Simply post the name of the game and the name of the publisher below to nominate it.
  4. You can nominate up to two games. It's not a contest to see who can list the most games!
  5. Nominations will remain open for two weeks, until December 28th. Voting will take place shortly thereafter.
  6. Not your own game or one you’re affiliated with.
  7. Include a link. Don't make me Google to try guess what you mean! No linky, no nommy.

Last year's winner was Pendragon 6E (pictured above). You can see last year's top 10 here. Sometimes products make it into the list in more than one year; what can I say? Product schedules slip!

It’s really simple. Is it going to be released on 2024?
Is it? The rule says if it's not available to the general public, it's not out, but you've said several times now that stuff that is available to backers only counts as already being released. Are the backers the general public or is that a limited release?

The rules seem to be tailored to exclude quite a few games, then.
games that are released already, yes. They would have qualified in the year before their release…

If you KS in Jan/Feb without already talking about it now, you are doing it wrong. If you KS later, it is not very likely that you deliver in 2024. There will be a few exceptions but how can you nominate something you haven’t even heard of yet…

I think Morrus needs to give the authoritative answer, but my interpretation was:
  • If the general public can order it in any format this year, it does not count - e.g. Outgunned is out in PDF form on DriveThruRPG, so it would not qualify for the list
  • If it's out to crowdfunding supporters only this year (but will be available to the general public next year), it can go to the list.
I'm not sure in which of the two buckets pre-orders would fall - probably #1.
It seems (see overgeeked's quote below) that pre-orders would fall into bucket #2.

Has he? All I saw was ‘having a publicly available PDF is enough to not qualify, it does not take a printed book for that’

Well, that was fun

Yes.

It literally says right up there. It’s been clear to everybody for a decade. I feel it’s still clear.

According to this rule, a PDF released only to backers of a Kickstarter does not count as a release to the general public. So I'm not sure why anyone is saying a backers-only PDF somehow counts as out. Monty Python CMRP is not available to the general public. So qualifies. Eat the Reich is not available to the general public. So qualifies. Unless you were a backer of Shadowdark, you can't buy the PDF so that should qualify for this list as well.
