Nominate your MOST ANTICIPATED RPG of 2026

It's that time of year again--what's your most anticipated TTRPG of next year?
As I do every year, I'm taking nominations for the MOST ANTICIPATED RPG poll for the coming year. Here is last year's Top 10 (spoiler: the winner was Legend in the Mist). Previous winners include 13th Age (2013), Star Wars Force & Destiny (2015), Rifts for Savage Worlds (2016), Trudvang Chronicles (2017), Vampire: the Masquerade 5th Edition (2018), Savage Worlds Adventure Edition (2019), Dune (2020 & 2021), Twilight 2000 (2021), Blade Runner (2022), Pendragon 6E (2023), and Shadow of the Weird Wizard (2024). What will be the most anticipated RPG of 2026?

We do this at the end of every year, and have done for several years now! Here's how it works:

We start with a nomination stage. That's this thread. You may nominate any standalone tabletop RPG due to be released to the general public in 2026. All nominated games will appear on the final ballot. To nominate a game, simply make a reply in this thread. A few rules:
  1. It must be a standalone tabletop RPG, NOT a supplement, setting, adventure, sourcebook, expansion, or accessory. If there is a QuickStart version, or a preview, it’s the full release that counts.
  2. It must be due out to the general public in 2026. The important date is the date the general public can purchase the book. That's not Kickstarter fulfillment dates or pre-orders.
  3. It must be nominated by at least one person in this thread. Simply post the name of the game and the name of the publisher below to nominate it.
  4. You can nominate up to two games. Make them the ones you're most anticipating. It's not a contest to see who can name the most games!
  5. Nominations will remain open for two weeks, until December 14th. Voting will take place shortly thereafter.
  6. Not your own game or one you’re affiliated with.
  7. Include a link. Don't make me Google to try guess what you mean! No linky, no nommy.

Last year's winner was Legend in the Mist (pictured above). You can see last year's top 10 here. Sometimes products make it into the list in more than one year; what can I say? Product schedules slip!

My comment had nothing to do with Legend of the Mist and everything to do with the potentially-misleading statement that any availability of a game was disqualifying.

The pick stands.
The conversation was about whether an RPG being for sale is disqualifying, or if only print books count. PDF sales and any other sale availability is disqualifying for a product to be eligible.

Cool. I clarified a misleading point made in that (public) conversation for the benefit of others who might not be following the entire thread. In doing so it wasn't my intent to whiz in your Wheaties, and I hope you have a nice day!

Fair, maybe engage more in contextual awareness im the future.
No need for 'more contextual awareness,' friend, when my intent is simply to clarify a misleading statement made in a group forum to prevent others from being misinformed.

In point of fact, 'availability in any form' is not a disqualifier. Pre-orders and backer rewards don't count. Anyone who wants to nominate a game which is open for pre-orders or distributed to backers can go ahead and do so.

Disinformation dispelled! Mission accomplished. I'm not here to argue with anyone. Have a nice day.

actually, you replied to a post, and the game being discussed in that context is available on DTRPG as a PDF, so in context @Parmandur was correct. You ignoring that context resulted in you responding with something that is misleading / wrong in context. So yes, more contextual awareness on your end could have prevented all of this.

You did not clarify anything, you caused confusion.

Btw, I think 13th Age 2e won’t be eligible. Their new updated FAQ says the game will be out on December 15th:

When is the game coming out?

It’s shipping now, so early December 2025! You can order it from the Pelgrane shop or your local retailer.

When is the PDF-only version coming out?

It’ll be coming out on December 15th, 2025 – order it then from the Pelgrane shop or DriveThruRPG.
