Oh sure. Like I said, the flavor text is definately intriguing. And I suppose that the spells are a big difference. And I am actually rather impressed that you didn't rear my post to shreds - so I must not have been too far off on a machanics analysis (besides the spells, of course).

And I would agree, actually, that they don't seem to be a prayer class. Actually, that is something that really did strike me as odd. They shouldn't call them prayer books at all. They should call them tomes. Tomes would be a much better word to describe what the archivist's book really is.

Alcyone calls hers a 'Grimoire'. She doesn't just write down prayers, but also all sorts of things that catch her interests, including especially heretical lore that her god (Lathander--although she is a restricted alignment for a cleric of Lathander because she can be :D) may have been an elder god that screwed up and changed his name (like Valujet changed to Airtran after that crash in the Everglades) but also many different things. She has Knowledge ranks in almost every area, and she knows more than the group's actual cleric of Lathander when it comes to the catechisms and dogmas of the faith (while she is in her Lathander robes and moving amongst the priests) and then she has lots of Arcana for chatting up our Gnome Illusionist or talking with her Librarian friends in the Blue Crater Academy (this is Shackled City) while wearing her wizardly scholar outfit. Did I mention she's like two-feet tall but considers herself to basically just be a human :D

Plus Knowledge Architecture and Engineering to help tinker with constructs she found, Knowledge Nobility to work on conspiracy theories (she thinks the nobles might probably be vampires, rakshasas, or beholders because she is a bit of a conspiracy theorist), Knowledge Local to help with that too, Knowledge History to explore ancient lore of lost civilisations, Knowledge The Planes in her studies of demons and planar connections and gods beyond what the faiths teach, etc :D

I still don't like the Warmage, for the same reasons I've given the last five times. Looks like it might finally really get the boot this time, at least.
