Non-core Gestalt Options

Gnome

First Post
The other gestalt thread covers core classes plus Expanded Psionics Handbook, so I thought I'd start one for interesting combos involving the newer base classes in the game.

A couple of ones that sound interesting to me:

Duskblade/Rogue: He would have to stick with light armor, but the good reflex save, the defensive abilities of the rogue, tumbling, sneak attack and skill points of the rogue would help the duskblade nicely. Beware of this guy when flanking, combining channeled spells with sneak attack!

Duskblade/Monk: A bit harder to explain background-wise, but a potent-seeming combo. Combining the monk's attacks with full BAB and spell channeling makes him much more potent offensively. Lots of MAD with this guy, though.

Warlock/Rogue: Not uber-powerful, but it gives a rogue something to do against foes that can't be sneak-attacked (eldritch blast), and a number of misc powers usable at will that could help a sneaky rogue.

I'll add more as I think of them.

Anyone else have any cool combos involving non-core classes?

Psion // Warblade -- "I can kill you with my brain." Melee and magic, great HP and decent skills, full BAB and all good saves (if you keep your Int high), and the ability to both fight all day and "nova" give you tons of tactical flexibility.

Warlock // Scout -- Mobility, mobility, mobility!

Cloistered Cleric // Swordsage -- Wisdom synergy, oh yes.

Wilder // Crusader -- Heavy armor vs. touch attacks, fight-all-day, Nova, and terribly handsome. Two good saves, and Cha to already good Will. You are an amazingly tough bastard.

Sorcerer // Dragon Shaman -- Not the most powerful combo, but becomes fun at level 4 if you take the Breath Weapon spells from the Spell Compendium. You'll want to find ways to mitigate casting in armor, of course.

Lurk//Fighter: kinda like the Psychic Warrior on steroids.

Warblade//Wizard: awesome gish, Int synergy, though the roleplaying bit is kinda hard to explain.

Warblade//swordsage: Going slightly MAD, but full BAB, 6 skill points, all good saves, Wis to AC in light armor, d12 Hit Dice and the crazy amount of martial maneuvers makes up for that.

Paladin//Knight: awesome defender with excellent saves and durability. Cha synergy. Fluff-wise also easy to explain.

Paladin//Favored Soul: easy background, good saves, Wis/Cha synergy.

Crusader/Monk - This works best in Eberron where you can be dragon marked. Why would you want to be dragonmarked? Becuase there is a feat that allows a dragon marked character to spend an action point for automatic max damage with an unarmed attack. Including Manuvers. Ouch.

Warlock/Soul Knife - never needs a weapon since he always has access to a ranged and a melee weapon. Combining the right invocations can yield a very potent melee fighter (especially with the the right "enhancements" in the mindblade).

Dex and Cha are the primary attributes. With Dex - you can better used the mindblade as 2 short swords with weapon finesse.

I second Paladin // Favored Soul. Turn undead from paladin to power divine and devotion feats, full caster, charisma synergy.

Beguiler // Specialist Wizard. Drop enchantment and illusion, and have buckets of spells, as well as still covering the skill monkey role in the party. You need to make sure you use all your spell slots though, so may I suggest a conjurer master specialist for free quickening, and five levels of Abjurant Champion for more free quickening.

There are some really good ones in here already.

Artificer // Warblade or Crusader - long-lasting buffs + good fighting ability.

Barbarian / Fighter / Warshaper // Swift Hunter - pounce + skirmish + lots of Str.
