Non-dunegon crawl mega modules?

Shameless plug alert...

A co-author and I just finished writing (over 4 years in development) this very thing. It is called "The Cult of Yex Campaign" and it will be published by Troll Lord Games. There are NO massive dungeons in it, though there are two or three fair sized dungeons, and about a dozen smaller dungeons. Dungeon locations include (inside a massive tree, a morphic castle where rooms shift randomly, 2 underwater dungeons, numerous demi-planes, an iceberg dungeon, a mausoleum on a disembodied graveyard on the astral plane, a stalagmite palace on the abyss, and a few surprises).

Neat! When will it be released?

Although its way off on the horizon, Monte Cook's Ptolus will be a citybook including a campaign that would take a group from 1-20. I imagine there's a fair amount of dungeoneering in it, but probably a good amount of city adventuring too.

Despite the title, there's several REgions in The World's Largest Dungeon that don't adhere to a sterotypical dungeon crawl. We designed 'em that way. :D

That is in Troll Lord's court at this point. I understand from the Trolls that artwork and cartography is well underway. I expect it is just weeks away at this point.

I have to ask: Which demon? Which plane of the Abyss?

I don't want to put any spoilers out here, but I think this is safe: The layer in question is Orcus' realm, and Orcus is heavily involved. The primary antagonist however is a cunning demon of our own design... Yex.

Addnl: The final module is for 18 to 20th level PCs, and is heavily political. The party must choose between the lesser of two evils in a massive demon war.

Well, I don't know if you want to count this, but Kenzer Co.'s Coin Trilogy should see characters thru a good 5-6 levels and it is a real mix of adventures.

With some modification, Path of Legend by Fantasy Flight Games could fit the bill as mega. As written, it runs PCs from 1st to 5th level. It includes some dungeon crawl, some wilderness, some city/town, et cetera. The downside is that it is campaign specific to Dawnforge (plus, shortly after its release, FFG killed the Dawnforge product line, which gives me the dubious honor of appearing to have killed an entire campaign setting).

:)

Key of Destiny and Spectre of Sorrows are mega-modules from Sovereign Press set in the current era of Krynn, in the Dragonlance campaign setting. KoD takes heroes from 1st to 7th levels; SoS takes them to 14th. The third book in this trilogy of adventures, Price of Courage, is currently in development (i.e. I am currently writing it) and will take the heroes all the way to 20th level.

There are several dungeon-like sections in the modules, but for the most part it's an extended campaign across parts of Ansalon, doing all kinds of things and running into all sorts of trouble. I'm not sure how easy it would be to fit into any other campaign setting - you'd probably have a fair bit of file numbers to file off, but SoS at least was written in such a way as to be playable somewhat in chunks.

Cheers,
Cam
