Thanks! That one was one of the more obscure oddities of the original Fiend Folio. I felt it could easily be done in 3e, with a little thought.

this one was, of course, based on the old "cats have 9 lives" thing. which also accounts for its name ("nona" = 9, "fel" = feline)
