It makes no sense that you get an armor penalty to attack rolls with melf's acid arrow. It also makes no sense that a person can create an arrow of acid out of nothing and launch it at an enemy without anything like a bow, just by pointing at the enemy. But, well, things that make no sense are an integral part of fantasy for me. I call it magic.
