NorCal Game Day II. January 31st 2004 at Gamer's Keepe in Vacaville?

Well...

I'm new to these boards, and unfortunately I've little experience with most of the games you have listed here, but I am in dire need of my RPing fix, heh.

I'm not familiar with Hackmaster, but I am famialir with Knights of the Dinner Table, so I'd love to give that a shot. I'm just curious, will there be fees invovled at all?

At the risk of sounding greedy...

I'd like to sign up for the 11am Hackmaster game, and (tentatively) the 6pm Savage Worlds game. I look forward to seeing you folks there!

Glad to find this thread.
Glad that the boards aren't logging me out every time I post.
Glad we'll be having another Gameday.

Did anyone read NY's Gameday thread?
It seemed like they were pulling teeth to get ANYONE to show up -
We should take some pride and satisfaction that enough people showed up at the 1st NorCal Gameday to be successful.

I know of a good breakfast restaurant (Eggie's, IIRC) but it is further away than Denny's.
I can call them to see if they take reservations and can accomodate a large party.

Wow. I don't have any of the rules for the games that are planned... :(

I don't know if GE has logo shirts or not, Gary. Could you give them a call and sound them out? ;) And your last Game Day logo was great! I'd be happy to accept that as our official logo. Just put a II after it and adjust the date and we're set.

Elder James, glad to have you. No fees for the day or the tourney. I did ask for donations, though, but don't feel at all pressured.

Ask your wife about HackMaster, reapersaurus. She had a blast in HackJoe's game at the last Game Day. Eggies, Eppies, Effies... ahhh whatever! Sounds good. :D

That may be true, but I'm happy to custom create you a M&M PC. And it's still d20, you'd get the hang of it right quick! :)

Well, none of that'll get done this weekend - my fiancee and I are going camping! But I'll work on it when I get a chance next week, unless you or reapersaurus beats me to the t-shirt question. ;)

The Savage Worlds Test Drive rules are at www.peginc.com in the Downloads section. If there's a stereotypical type of fantasy adventuring chatacter you like to play, well, most likely it'll be in my game. I'm not gonna try to break new ground with a wonderfully complex and engaging story, just offer up a demo of sorts of the system and hopefully have some fun.

Hey All, I work at Great Escape, and I can answer some questions.

First, nope. No shirts. We do have a shirt design, but we haven't had the shirts made yet.

I'll call the boss a little later, when I suspect that he might be in, but there wasn't a game day on the master calendar that I have seen ... and as of now I am planning on running a (hopefully) fairly large turn out Warlord CCG event that day.

I just read over on RPGnet that they are having a game day in the bay area also on Nov. 8th. They're having "industry professionals" attend and seem to have the full support of a local game store and some game companies. Now, not to sound bitter, but it makes me... I dunno. Disappointed. I suppose they can manage that because the administrator of their board lives in the bay area and obviously has connections there. Up here, we have... uhm... what do we have? We can't even get a dozen people interested it seems. It's just disappointing is all. Every other game day seems to go better, for some reason. Maybe it's the area, I don't know. Maybe we don't have the "stars" of the boards around here to draw a crowd. I personally have no connections with the game industry nor any pull with local game stores. I'm just an average dude.

Regardless, I hope we can pull off a second NorCal Game Day, with even bigger success than the first. I don't know if people are shying away until they see more people sign up first, or what. I don't understand that line of thinking, because, if no one signs up, it just doesn't work. There has to be a way to get the word out. Within a 1 hour drive time of Sacramento, there are hundreds of gamers. Where are they? Maybe not on these boards.

Hey! What am I, chopped liver?

;)

That does suck, mistergone. I don't understand where everybody's disappeared to, either. The first Gameday went great, everyone seemed to have a good time, we should at least get most of the 1st crowd back.

Come on, NorCal'ers! Respond!
