Northern California Game Day (Any DMs out there?)

I may talk one of my guys into volunteering for the Temple of Pazuzu this Friday. I'd really like to stick to the 2+2+interlude games. We only need 14 people, give or take, to pull this off.

This is too much like the volunteer and charitable work I've been in. The organizers end up doing all the work! I'd think organizing a game day in a region as densely populated as Northern California should be a snap! I never thought apathy would penetrate our favorite hobby.

I have 5 in my home group, including me. If Grant takes on the evening d20 adventure, that means 3/4 of the RP for that day will be run by 3/5 of my group. The only other remaining game will be run by the principal organizer of this event. I'm glad we'll finally get this thing off the ground, but I'm incredibly disappointed in the way it's coming off. I never thought I'd be jaded in this hobby. :(

Heh. My apologies. I'm currently taking two intensive courses here at UCD for summer session, and so i don't want to commit to something i'll do poorly. Of course, i should be getting the new dragonlance CS this week. I will look over the adventure in the back, and if i can, i'll run it at the game day =)

So hell, put me down for that last slot =)

Are you sure? Jumping into a new CS, even if familiar, sounds a lot more intensive than simply familiarizing oneself with a module. Why not just let me send you this and you can look it over. Should be a piece of cake.

Bloodymage - I understand your feelings.

I said long ago that Northern Californians are notoriously difficult to get to commit to something like this - from my experience with coordinating a Rennaisance Guild, I can attest to the difficulty in nailing down people to commit to a time, or a date.

I'm sorry I can't DM - but I'm really a player, and arbitrating a Game of Death is a stretch for me.
I can ask my gaming bud if he can let us borrow the demo box from Firefly Games for their Monster Island product - it's a real easy, monster-smashing-other-monsters game, where you use toys in battle.

Heck, the Firefly Games home office is just down the street, on Marconi! :)

well, let me get the CS, and look it over. You can send me that module you have, and i'll spend some time looking over that as well. I guess i'm committed now.

On its way. Just to let you know, I've only given the briefest glance at this and read a bit of the opening flavor text (didn't know if I was going to be playing in it). I edited what I guess is a bit of an Aussieism with "foot" quotes to start a quotational passage and regular quotes to close it. Anyway, it looks interesting from what I did read and close to being ready to publish. I'd say it is ready, but as I indicated, I've only given it a cursory look to make sure it has potential. Enjoy.

Talinthas, do you have an e-mail with some capacity to it? This file, zipped, is just over 3 megs. I can send it, but I don't think your hotmail account will take it unless you've opted for their premium pay service.

If you don't have a large enough account anywhere, I can break it up and send it to you 1 meg at a time.
