D&D 5E (2024) Not a fan of the new Eldritch Knight

I find it strange when you say
Internet community are basically idiots
because this forum is part of that Internet community.

And concerning
You can find better information here
I can't say that I have found any of that yet. I found plenty of opinions, though.

As for
Treantmonk
I share your opinion. The same applies to
Pack tactics
as my previous conversations should have shown. It would be interesting to see what he has to say about the Enchantment Wizard. I don't see a video of him mentioning them. I found a video on the Abjuration Wizard, the Necromancer, the Chronurgy Wizard, the Diviner, the Evoker, the Conjurer, the Bladesinger, and the Illusionist, but not the Enchanter. I know he didn't mention it in his top 10 builds. He has a class tier list and a Warlock subclass tier list, but no Wizard subclass tier list.

Theres really only one person here who plays 5E regularly at higher level. Alot don't play 5e snd not all of them play 5 5 Lots of theorycrafting basically.

ENworld thinks fireballs a great spell and it even got nerfed lol.
If you layer a 5 0 enchanter onto a 5.5 wizard base class st level 10 its probably the best wizard vs the other 5 5.5 ones.

Two yutubers generally worth listening to rated on A the other S and vice versa.

I mentioned the enchanter all I said was its really good. So is the Exandria wizard.

All 3 of us here are really agreeing they're very powerful at high levels.

Its all subjective but its reasonably minor nitpicking. No one's saying ones a B or C subclass.

Except the viewers in DD video. Internet masses aren't very good at rating power tbh.
Maybe I should clarify.

I'm interested in information, not opinions. If someone tells me that something is good and can reasonably say why, I'll listen. And if someone tells me that A would be better than B and can reasonably tell me why, I'll listen to. But "i've seen it in action" is just an opinion of the "Trust me, bro"-category. There are plenty of interesting conversation that could be had be comparing the subclass features of the various subclasses in a rational manner, but "Trust me, Bro" is less than unhelpful.

And if everything is just subjective, then I'll rather abstain from such conversations in the future because, as I said, I'm interested in information, not opinions. And from what I can tell so far, I get better information on YouTube than here. People say Reddit is bad, but the people here just seem to argue for arguing's sake. As I said at some point, if I said that water is wet, somebody might argue about it.

Enchanter is realky good due to split enchantment.

Essentially its free upcasts of comnand. Tashashs higeoys laughter, tashas mind whip, hold monster, hold person, ottos irresistible dance plus the rest.

Paralyzed really encourages things like smites and attack roll spells (after moving within 5').

I've seen lvl 6 scorching ray into paralyzed boss with hex.

Yes, and how is that better than other Wizard's subclass features? How does it compare to other 10th level features and why? What if there is only one target?

Yes, attack rolls have Advantage and if you move within 5 feet, you auto-crit. But without Spell Sniper, you also have Disadvantage with ranged spell attacks like Scorching Ray, so it's a straight-roll.

But any Wizard can cast Hold Monster and all Wizards can force rerolls with Silvery Barbs and Diviners can force fails.

What I'm saying is, you make a good point why it is good, but you make no point why

If you say better or best, you have to compare it to the other ones.

Again, "I've seen it" aka "Trust me, Bro".

You dont have disadvantage to hit in 5.5. If theyre paralyzed theyre not threatening. And that is the disadvantage to hit.

I think it was the same in 5.0.

What page is that rule on?

Page 26.
Paralyzed gives you incapacitated condition.

Page 26 if someone's incapacitated.....

Theres a reason ECMO3 and myself are fans of hex on EKs and other builds.

Ive seen alert feat bump spellcasters up initiative they paralyze7 opponents. Chromatic Orbs get 4 crits and then hex+Scorching Ray (lvl4) used.
