Now that Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden is all but confirmed, let's do a poll for a hypothetical fourth book of the year. What do you think it will be, if anything? (Not what do you want it to be!).

Here's a pretty chart. I post this mostly because it illustrates that in the past six years--2014-19--Wizards of the Coast has never not published a November book. Obviously it lines up with the holiday season, so they'll want to get it out there, if at all possible.

Now given that Icewind Dale wasn't delayed, and most--if not all--of the work needing to be done on the 4th book could be done at home, unless there's further complications this Fall with distribution, there's good reason to think there plan is for a fourth book. But you never know.

Anyhow, describe your prediction below.

From your grid, I see that November books tend to be setting or ''mechanical'' expansion. So my take is that we will have a book in November with players options. My bet would be a planar-themed book, but it would be weird to have a bunch of planar rules before the holidays without any modules that would benefit from having them.

Maybe a theme-less mechanical expansion like XGtE, but it seems a little too soon to me to put another 20-30 archetypes + rules for tatoos + magic items/spells or whatnot.

My best guess would be either a Psionics book, a Dark Sun book, or an Extraplanar book. That is what they've been playtesting around recently.

Is this the first time we know the name of a book before the previous one is out? (Probably only because Theros has been delayed, and this leak was a bit earlier than they usually are).

Can I predict a digital-only product so it doesn't have to be physically produced during the pandemic? And then it is a playtest for something they might release early in 2021 - kind of like the Eberron preview?
