Now that 5E is imminent, what are your D&D plans?

What are your D&D plans going forward?

So we have official dates now and more and more info coming out, so imagine people are starting to think about the state of their games come this autumn. Maybe you decided long ago, but either way, I thought it is worth an updated poll and thread to ask the question: What are your D&D plans going forward?

Poll to come.

Hopefully to start playing again. Haven't chucked the dice since 2007 and not because a lack of want, more a lack of resources and moving, oh, say 8x to different cities and homes.

I'm working hard on fleshing out my adaptation of psychic rules for 3e, and I'll be running psychic-heavy 3e mixed with CoC and maybe a trial of some other rpg for the foreseeable future. I'm pretty happy with where I see my system going.

I didn't vote since I didn't think any of the responses were quite right. I'm not actively involved in a game right now, so converting isn't really an issue. I plan to buy the books as they become available to check 'em out, since I spend most of my entertainment allotment on gaming-related items/activities. Whether I actually play a game of 5e will depend on opportunity. But I'll support the core products at least, and see if they hold my interest.

My plans are the same as before: get the 3 core books, and fully switch to 5e.

In fact, I've been playtesting since the start, and before that I was on a many-years hiatus from 3.0, so it's hardly a "switch" at this point...

I picked option 1, because it's true, I am running a 5e game already. However, I'm also a player in a 4e game, a Pathfinder game, an Edge of the Empire game, and 2 of these game are starting up after having finished a 13th Age game and an ACKS game.

So, yeah, more of an "all of the above". :)

I'm still on the fence on this one. I'll pick up the Starter Set to check it out, and also read some reviews once the PHB and other books are out. If I like what I see, I'll pick up the books and give it a real try. And if I like it enough, I'll switch.

The other D&D DM in our group has indicated that he's not planning to buy-in to 5e at all, so I doubt I'll be getting a chance to play any time soon, so it's a question of running it myself or letting the edition pass me by.

I'll be using D&D5 for things D&D5 is good for, Pathfinder for things Pathfinder is good for, and D&D4 for things D&D4 is good for.

If I'm "converting" from anything to anything, I'll be converting from AD&D1-2 to D&D5, as I expect D&D5 to be a long-awaited update to that niche.

But I really don't understand this prevailing opinion that the editions of D&D, including Pathfinder, are currently interchangeable. 1st, 2nd, the 3rd continuum, and 4th are each so different from one another.
