[Oathbound] Who's playing?

First Post
Who among you all out there run a game in the Oathbound setting? And how is it? I've read many reviews, and I'm thinking I might pick up the core book, if only to read. Sounds very cool.
Currently, I'm running a campaign in Scarred Lands (great setting , BTW), and was thinking after they get to 10th-11th level to surprise the crap out of them and zap them to Penance to mess about for a while. Just curious what y'all think.

I've yet to run it, but I have the core book. Great setting, very intrigueing, and I think it would be a great place for your party to arrive to. Have them see a black crow watching them every now and then. Freak them out with the crows first.

Been running it for the past few months. We are using it for our nearly epic game. (Started at level 1, are now level 18... moved to Oathbound around level 14-15)

I've got a group playing it right now. Though I believe that the party is going to get sent to the Forgotten Realms to run City of the Spider Queen for a little while.

We enjoy it a great deal I'm looking forward to seeing how we readjust to Toril.

I'm going to have a group in Oathbound soon, but I want to make sure I have the book fully read first. A skim through of Plains of Penance got me even MORE hyped about Oathbound. The first group though, may turn out to be something weird. I'm going to have my players make ECL 7 PCs from whatever d20 game they want, and they'll all get tossed into Oathbound together. One of them is making a WWII soldier using the stuff from the latest Dungehedron. It should be interesting... My main problem is that I have a full time job and never have time to write my own adventures, and there aren't that many Oathbound adventures out there.

I'm HOPING that eventually Jim Butler and Greg Dent allow other companies to write adventures for it just like Mystic Eye is doing for Dragonstar. (HINT HINT!) This will get me adventures, and allow Bastion to keep churning out sourcebooks (I can't wait for Wrack & Ruin and Arena!).

We consider adventures important to Oathbound, although I have my doubts that they will be outsourced to another company any time soon. I'm sure you've already noticed this, but there is a lengthy adventure in the main Oathbound hardback by Brannon Hollingsworth and Ken Marable, there is an adventure I wrote in Plains of Penance, and there is the free adventure "Waters of Akaya" available for download from the Bastion Press site, also written by me.

In addition to these, there will be adventures in both Wrack & Ruin, and Arena. I believe Brannon Hollingsworth authors both of those.

Finally, you might want to keep your eyes on the Oathbound fan site The Hub, which is at the following URL: http://webpages.charter.net/sbennett02/The Hub/Hub Home.htm

Hey Baraendur, thanks for the plug man! I hope to produce some more adventures on the site, although they generally won't be as ambitious as the things Darrin, Brannon, and Ken are putting out in the published books. However, you'll hopefully find some things that spark an idea for you. If you have anything that you find particularly fun or interesting, I'm more than happy to post it at the Hub for others to enjoy. Welcome to the club!

Excellent!

Oooooo...........very nice idea! I may have to start implementing that now. They are leaving the city of Meliad to head into the Fouled Forest soon..........

Now I'm definitely picking the Oathbound book up. Thanks for the responses!!

Tor, while I'm a huge SL fan, I think moving the party to Oathbound makes perfect sense to me. :) I hope you have fun. (Btw I do have the corebook but not Plains yet. I will say, it's a great setting. Already have a couple friends wanting to play a hone.)
