I've found that single sentence, throw away posts have gone a long way toward increasing my post count.

However, I also try to post with relative frequency something substantive or valuable. Otherwise I think that people tend to view you as nothing but an attention whore.

This way, people view me as an attention whore who occasionally has something of value or interest to say.

Which category this post falls into is left to the individual reader.
