Obscure LotR reference.....

I was "reading bunks" this morning at work and happened to have it on the classic rock station waiting for John Boy and Billy (The Big Show) to come on. I had it turned down pretty low so I could concentrate on work, and I was suffering from lack of sleep, so maybe I imagined this:

I thought I heard something about Mordor (sp?), so I stopped the pickup and turned it up to listen. The next line was something about "Gollum" taking his girl, or something like that. The main part of the song kept repeating "Ramble On," or something similar (maybe "Ramblin' On?"). It was the last verse of the song and the DJ didn't say who it was or give the name of the song. It sounded a lot like Robert Plant, but I'm not sure (I'm more of an 80's music fan).

Does anyone have any idea who the artist is along with the song name and can tell me what the last verse says?

Yeah. Ramble On by Led Zeppelin. Plant & Page were big LotR fans apparently. Another Zep "LotR" song that comes to mind is The Battle of Evermore also - the song mentions the Ringwraiths. I think a few others have LotR references in them too :)

Ramble On and The Battle of Evermore are the only two Led Zeppelin songs that have direct reference to Tolkien. Tolkien is also referenced in the title of the song Misty Mountain Hop.

Contrary to popular belief, there are no Tolkien references in Stairway to Heaven. Although some of the lyrics to it almost sound like Tolkien references.
